Background: Morphological properties such as length and tortuosity of the large intestine segments play important roles, especially in interventional procedures like colonoscopy.
Objective: Using computed tomography (CT) colonoscopy images, this study aimed to examine the morphological features of the colon's anatomical sections and investigate the relationship of these sections with each other or with age groups. The shapes of the transverse colon were analyzed using artificial intelligence.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab emtansine in patients with metastatic breast cancer previously treated with pertuzumab plus trastuzumab and taxane. We reviewed the medical records of patients who were diagnosed with Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER-2) positive metastatic breast cancer and received pertuzumab and then TDM-1 between January 2014 and January 2021 from twenty- five cancer centers. The Kaplan- Meier method estimated progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

Background: The primary analysis of IMvigor130 showed a significant progression-free survival benefit with first-line atezolizumab plus platinum-based chemotherapy (group A) versus placebo plus platinum-based chemotherapy (group C) in patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer. However, this finding did not translate into significant overall survival benefit for group A versus group C at the final analysis, precluding formal statistical testing of outcomes with atezolizumab monotherapy (group B) versus group C. Here we report the final overall survival results for group B versus group C; this report is descriptive and should be considered exploratory due to the study's statistical design.

Background: The debridement and Achilles tendon reinsertion (DATR) have been the most common surgical approach for the treatment of Insertional Achilles Tendinopathy (IAT), while dorsal closing wedge calcaneal osteotomy (DCWCO) has recently gained popularity as an alternative surgical option. This study aimed to systematically review the published literature on both surgical techniques and compare their clinical outcomes and complication rates.
Methods: A systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA guidelines using Medline, Embase, and Scopus databases.

Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is a monogenic autoinflammatory disorder with recurrent fever, abdominal pain, serositis, articular manifestations, erysipelas-like erythema, and renal complications as its main features. Caused by the mutations in the MEditerranean FeVer (MEFV) gene, it mainly affects people of Mediterranean descent with a higher incidence in the Turkish, Jewish, Arabic, and Armenian populations. As our understanding of FMF improves, it becomes clearer that we are facing with a more complex picture of FMF with respect to its pathogenesis, penetrance, variant type (gain-of-function vs.

Background: Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic, inflammatory, recurrent disease with recurrent abscesses, and sinus tract formation leading to scarring. Calprotectin has immunomodulatory, antimicrobial, and antiproliferative properties and is a calcium-binding protein primarily found in the neutrophil cytoplasm. In recent years, a significant relationship between the activity of various diseases and the level of calprotectin has led to the conclusion that there may be a similar relationship in hidradenitis suppurativa.

Aim: Tuberculin skin test (TST) is still used in diagnostic algorithms of childhood tuberculosis (TB). QuantiFERON TB Gold In-Tube assay (QFT-GIT) is an alternative test to TST based on the detection of interferon-gamma release upon in vitro induction of peripheral mononuclear cells by TB antigens. In this study, we aimed to determine the diagnostic value and performance of QFT-GIT for active childhood TB.

Arthrogryposis is a clinical finding that is present either as a feature of a neuromuscular condition or as part of a systemic disease in over 400 Mendelian conditions. The underlying molecular etiology remains largely unknown because of genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity. We applied exome sequencing (ES) in a cohort of 89 families with the clinical sign of arthrogryposis.

Purpose: Lymph node metastasis has a significant contribution to the prognosis of epithelial ovarian cancer but the role of lymph node dissection in treatment is not clear. In this study, we aimed to retrospectively determine the effect of the number and localization of lymph nodes removed and the number of metastatic lymph nodes on survival.
Methods: In this study, we retrospectively reviewed the data of 378 patients (210 patients with lymph node dissection and 168 patients with no dissection) who underwent primary surgery between 2004 and 2014 in various centers with epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis and followed up in our medical oncology clinic.

Background: Vanishing white matter disease is a heterogeneous disorder caused by mutation in one of the five genes encoding subunits of the eukaryotic initiation factor eIF2B. It is a heterogeneous disorder due to phenotypic variation and a clear genotype-phenotype correlation could not be established so far. We describe a novel mutation in the EIF2B5 gene by analyzing the clinical phenotype and the progression of brain lesions for 10 years.
