While there are many studies on the relationship between anxiety disorders and childhood traumas in the literature, there are limited studies on the relationship between separation anxiety disorders and traumatic experiences in early life. It is widely known that trauma and negative cognitive processes are important factors in the etiology and prognosis of psychiatric disorders. In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between adult separation anxiety levels and childhood traumas and cognitive distortions, and to examine the mediating role of cognitive distortions in the relationship between childhood traumas and separation anxiety.

In recent years, social cognition and one of its dimensions, the theory of mind, have been more commonly investigated in patients with social anxiety disorder (SAD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In this study, SAD, ADHD, comorbid SAD-ADHD, and healthy control (HC) groups, each consisting of 30 participants, were included and compared in terms of social cognition and functionality. Mean global functioning assessment scores were found to be significantly higher in the HC group compared with the other three groups and in the ADHD group compared with the SAD and SAD-ADHD groups.

Background: It was well defined that proliferative effects of bile acids on colon epithelium are through interaction with muscarinic-3 receptors. Recently, microRNA emerged as an important regulator of gene expression and has been implicated in pathogenesis of many malignancies. However, the interaction of CHRM3 and microRNAs and their potential effects on colon carcinogenesis remains to be elucidated.

Introduction: Prolonged inflammation after tracheal injury invariably results in a degree of stenosis. The topical application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and human amniotic fluid-derived cell culture medium (ACCM) have been shown to promote wound healing. The effects of PRP and amniotic cell culture medium (Gibco AmnioMAX - II ) were investigated in a rat model through morphometric, histological, and biochemical parameters.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares three surgical flap delay methods to assess their effectiveness in improving flap survival and their impact on DNA damage indicators.
  • Twenty-four male rats were used in the experiment, which involved creating and monitoring a modified McFarlane flap over different time frames.
  • The findings suggest that bipedicled incisional delay is the most effective method, while other techniques may heighten toxicity risks.

Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of fucoidin on rat kidney and lung in an infraaortic ishemia reperfusion model.

Methods: Forty Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups ( = 8) as sham, control (IR), before ischemia (BI), before reperfusion (BR), and before ischemia and before reperfusion (BI/BR). Rats were subjected to 120 minutes ischemia followed by 120 minutes reperfusion with application of infrarenal aortic clamping.

Article Synopsis
  • Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is transmitted through contaminated food and is known to have several genotypes, with genotype 1 and 2 typically causing acute infections and genotype 3 leading to chronic cases.
  • A study analyzed 231 raw milk samples from various animals, finding that 20.34% tested positive for HEV RNA, with cow milk showing the highest rates of contamination.
  • Among the positive samples, various HEV genotypes were identified, with genotype 1a being the most common, indicating a diverse presence of HEV strains in raw milk within the studied region.
