Developing targeted and sensitive analytical techniques for drug monitoring in different specimens are of utmost importance. Herein, a first attempt was made for the determination of paroxetine (Prx) in environmental water samples using a novel, sensitive, selective, stable, accurate and eco-friendly potentiometric sensor based on Zn-Fe layered double hydroxides/graphitic carbon nitride (Zn-Fe LDH/g-CN) nanomaterials with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) as the sensing ionophore and dibutyl phthalate (DBP) as the plasticizer. The prepared nanomaterial was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

The patterning of functional structures is crucial in the field of materials science. Despite the enticing nature of two-dimensional surfaces, the task of directly modeling them with regular structures remains a significant challenge. Here we present a novel method to pattern a two-dimensional polymer in a controlled way assisted by chemical polymerization, which is confirmed through discernible observation.

Copper oxide-based nanocomposites are promising electrode materials for high-performance supercapacitors due to their unique properties that aid electrolyte access and ion diffusion to the electrode surface. Herein, a facile and low-cost synthesis strategy based on co-precipitation and incorporation processes of reduced graphene oxide (rGO), followed by oxidative polymerization of aniline monomer has been reported. CuO@CuO/rGO/PANI nanocomposite revealed the good distribution of CuO@CuO and rGO within the polymer matrix which allows improved electron transport and ion diffusion process.

Marine fungi receive excessive attention as prolific producers of structurally unique secondary metabolites, offering promising potential as substitutes or conjugates for current therapeutics, whereas existing research has only scratched the surface in terms of secondary metabolite diversity and potential industrial applications as only a small share of bioactive natural products have been identified from marine-derived fungi thus far. Anthraquinones derived from filamentous fungi are a distinct large group of polyketides containing compounds which feature a common 9,10-dioxoanthracene core, while their derivatives are generated through enzymatic reactions such as methylation, oxidation, or dimerization to produce a large variety of anthraquinone derivatives. A considerable number of reported anthraquinones and their derivatives have shown significant biological activities as well as highly economical, commercial, and biomedical potentialities such as anticancer, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory activities.

In the present research work, we employed the transfer matrix method (TMM) in addition to MATLAB software to examine the transmission properties of various organic-based one-dimensional (1D) magnetic cold-plasma photonic crystals (MCPPhCs). The proposed structures were found to be made up of periodic layers of organic materials and magnetic cold-plasma (MCP) at normal incidence. An external magnetic field (B) polarized in right-hand (RH) and left-hand (LH) configurations was applied on 1D MCPPhCs.
