Acute gastric variceal bleeding is a rare but serious complication of portal hypertension. Initial therapy for bleeding gastric varices focuses on acute hemostasis. In this regard, endoscopic cyanoacrylate injection (ECI) is the first-line approach.

Profuse diarrhea after autologous stem cell transplantation for peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified: a case report.

We report the case of a 59-year-old patient with a history of peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCLNOS) presenting with profuse diarrhea 3 months after completing lymphoma treatment. After exhaustive workup a recurrence of the peripheral T-cell lymphoma in the gastrointestinal tract was diagnosed. Predominant gastrointestinal recurrence is a unique presentation of relapse of PTCL-NOS.

A case of paediatric seasonal eosinophilic oesophagitis.

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic disorder characterized by eosinophilic inflammation of the oesophagus triggered by food allergens and possibly aeroallergens. We present a boy with the diagnosis of EoE at the age of 4 years and the disease responded to topical steroids. When he turned 7 years old he had the concomitant diagnose of grass pollen allergy.

Small intestinal neuroendocrine tumors (SI-NETs) typically follow an indolent disease course and are often accompanied by mesenteric lymph node metastases upon diagnosis. These tumors can incite a fibroblastic reaction within the mesenteric root. Here, we present two cases of patients with symptomatic small bowel obstruction due to such mesenteric involvement.

This retrospective study describes sociodemographic characteristics, treatment patterns and outcomes of patients with complex CPFs in five European countries.

Patients And Methods: PREFACE is a multi-national medical chart review study of CD patients who started medical or surgical treatment for a new episode of complex CPFs between September 2011 and September 2014 (index date).

However, the evidence on which this recommendation is based, is rather limited. In this study we evaluate the performance of novices in ESD during their one-year training period; with continuous supervision of an endoscopist with extensive experience in ESD.

Unlike several chronic diseases, the role of telemonitoring in IBD has not yet been defined, particularly in terms of patient compliance with remote monitoring; the aim of our study was to assess patient compliance with digital monitoring of PRO as part of routine medical follow-up.

Background And Study Aims: The COVID-19 pandemic substantially impacted the healthcare system and society in 2020. This study assessed its possible impact on occurrence and stage of colorectal cancer diagnoses in Belgium.

Methods: Population-based data from the Belgian Cancer Registry were used to extrapolate 2017-2019 trends in incidence and stage distribution to expected counts for 2020 that were subsequently compared to the observed values.

Background: Labour epidural analgesia reportedly fails in up to 10 to 25% of cases. Achieving inter- and transdisciplinarity in Ecohealth: insights from a rodent-borne disease project in a polycrisis era.

Introduction: Inter- and transdisciplinary research (ITDR) is increasingly promoted to address "wicked problems", particularly in health sectors adopting approaches like Ecohealth. Our Ecohealth-inspired project on rodent-borne diseases, initiated just before the COVID-19 pandemic, provided an opportunity to evaluate ITDR implementation.

Methods: We employed a recently developed semi-quantitative evaluation method to measure our project's success in achieving ITDR and analyzed factors influencing this achievement.

Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate the expression of beam hardening artifacts generated by high atomic number materials in stitched cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images, compared to the traditional acquisition mode.

Materials And Methods: CBCT volumes were acquired using an acrylic resin phantom embedded with pairs of cylinders made from amalgam dental alloy, cobalt-chromium alloy, gutta-percha, titanium, and zirconium.
