The article presents the possibility of increasing the water resistance of gypsum binders (GBs) obtained based on synthetic gypsum by introducing additives derived from industrial wastes. Regularities were obtained for the influence of the type and amount of additives on the water/gypsum ratio (W/G), strength indicators and water resistance of high-strength GB. The introduction of a single-component additive to improve water resistance does not have a significant effect.

The article presents a case of chronic odontogenic maxillary sinusitis and the results of its surgical treatment. The cause of the sinusitis, confirmed by the results of X-ray and pathohistological studies, was an inflammatory process affecting the bone tissue around the implant, installed in the place of the upper first molar which was accompanied by the development of an oroantral fistula. During the surgical intervention, the communication between the oral cavity and the maxillary sinus was eliminated, and the implant with the abutment, which was entirely in its cavity, was also removed.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) show great potential for their application as cancer therapeutic nanodrugs, but the efficiency and mechanism of their accumulation in the cell, the modulation of cell activity, and the strong dependence of the results on the type of capping molecule still hinder the transfer of SWCNTs to the clinic. In the present study, we determined the mechanism and sequence of accumulation, distribution and type discrimination of SWCNTs in glioma cells by applying K-means clustering and principal component analysis (PCA) of Raman spectra of cells exposed to SWCNTs capped with either DNA or oligonucleotides (ON). Based on the specific biochemical information uncovered by PCA and further applied to K-means, we show that the accumulation of SWCNT-DNA occurs in two phases.

This paper reports a mini-resonant photoacoustic sensor for high-sensitivity trace gas sensing. The sensor primarily contains a sphere-cylinder coupled acoustic resonator, a cylindrical buffer chamber, and a fiber-optic acoustic sensor. The acoustic field distributions of this mini-resonant photoacoustic sensor and the conventional T-type resonant photoacoustic sensor have been carefully evaluated, showing that the first-order resonance frequency of the present mini-resonant photoacoustic sensor is reduced by nearly a half compared to that of the T-type resonant photoacoustic sensor.

This study aimed to explore the effects of Triticeae on the disulfide bonds, secondary structures, microstructure, and rheological properties of BM dough, and to investigate the potential food applications of BM.
