In this study, we analyze a series of molecules belonging to the C(M) molecular symmetry group which are characterized by several conformers. The use of molecular symmetry at each stage of calculating the energy of stationary torsional states is demonstrated. In particular, the importance is shown of preliminary symmetrization of physical characteristics of the molecules obtained by quantum chemical calculations.

: Ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers often share clinical characteristics and are typically diagnosed at advanced stages due to nonspecific symptoms. The utility of tumor markers, particularly CA125 and HE4, in the diagnosis and follow-up of these cancers remains an area of active investigation. : The CEEGOG (Central and Eastern European Gynecologic Oncology Group) OX-01 study aimed to evaluate HE4's role alongside CA125 in follow-up for advanced-stage ovarian, fallopian tube, and primary peritoneal cancers.

The aim of this study was to develop a new series of isocryptolepines and evaluate their antiproliferative and antiestrogenic activities on cancer cells. A series of isocryptolepine derivatives were synthesized using developed one-pot photochemical, metal-free protocol, employing readily available 2-arylindoles as starting compounds. The resulting isocryptolepines demonstrated (sub)micromolar inhibitory activity against selected breast cancer cell lines.

Within this manuscript, we provide a novel Fano resonance-driven micro-nanosensor. Its primary structural components are a metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguide, a shield with three disks, and a T-shaped cavity (STDTC). The finite element approach was used to study the gadget in theory.

Microorganisms are integral to ecosystem functioning and host adaptation, yet the understanding of microbiomes in diverse beetle taxa remains limited. We conducted a comprehensive study to investigate the microbial composition of two red flat bark beetle species, Cucujus haematodes and C. cinnaberinus, and assessed the influence of host taxonomic relatedness and host tree species on their microbiomes.

Background: TB is concentrated in populations with complex health and social issues, including alcohol use disorders (AUD). We describe treatment adherence and outcomes in a person-centred, multidisciplinary, psychosocial support and harm reduction intervention for people with multidrug-resistant or rifampicin-resistant TB (MDR/RR-TB) with harmful alcohol use.
Methods: An observational cohort study, including multilevel mixed-effects logistic regression and survival analysis with people living in Minsk admitted with MDR/RR-TB and AUD during January 2019-November 2021 who received this person-centred, multidisciplinary, psychosocial support and harm reduction intervention, was conducted.

Critically acute and ill and Obstetrical patients constitute a unique clinical population with a high mortality rate. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is gradually being used in obstetrical acute and critically ill patients and has shown great advantages. PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Chinese CNKI Database, and Cochrane Library databases were systematically searched from the earliest available date to March 15, 2024, to obtain relevant studies on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in obstetric patients.

Phylogenetic studies of aberrant species are of considerable scientific interest because their taxonomic rank in traditional systems based on morphological characters is not infrequently overestimated. (Braun, ) is one of the few psilostomid digeneans devoid of the pharynx. This is considered a sufficient basis for assigning it and similar species to the subfamily Apopharynginae.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women worldwide. Chemodynamic therapy (CDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), and ion interference therapy (IIT), used in combination, represent a common treatment. In this study, platelet membrane-camouflaged copper-doped CaO biomimetic nanomedicines have been developed for breast cancer treatments.

Climatic oscillations are considered primary factors influencing the distribution of various life forms on Earth. Large species adapted to cold climates are particularly vulnerable to extinction due to climate changes. In our study, we investigated whether temperature increase since the Late Pleistocene and the contraction of environmental niche during the Holocene were the main factors contributing to the decreasing range of moose (Alces alces) in Europe.

Scar-related ventricular tachycardia (VT) commonly results from scarring in the myocardium, principally produced by antecedent myocardial infarction, cardiomyopathy, or prior cardiac surgery. The resultant arrhythmogenic substrate from scarred tissue and the alteration of normal cardiac electrical conduction predispose patients to reentrant circuits, followed by VT. This literature review synthesizes current research on pathophysiology, diagnostic methods, and treatment modalities of scar-related VT.

Angiogenesis, the process of formation of new capillaries from existing blood vessels, is required for multiple physiological and pathological processes. Complement factor H (CFH) is a plasma protein that inhibits the alternative pathway of the complement system. Loss of CFH enhances the alternative pathway and increases complement activation fragments with pro-angiogenic capacity, including complement 3a, complement 5a, and membrane attack complex.
