Chronic Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a major complication of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), affecting the female genital tract in 25-66% of the patients. This condition, referred to as Genital GVHD is an underdiagnosed gynecologic comorbidity, that can significantly impair quality of life. We aimed to describe the prevalence and management of genital GVHD following HSCT.

Despite the acknowledged merits of precision oncology (PO) and its increasing global implementation, its full potential for advancing care and prevention remains unrealized. The benefits are currently accessible to only limited patient segments because of multifaceted barriers. Successful implementation hinges on various factors-scientific complexities not limited to technical, clinical, regulatory, economic, administrative, and health care policy-related challenges.

Importance: Three similar phase 3 randomized clinical trials have investigated PD-1/PD-L1 (programmed cell death 1 protein/programmed cell death 1 ligand 1) inhibitors in combination with platinum-based chemotherapy vs chemotherapy alone as first-line treatment for advanced urothelial carcinoma (IMvigor130, atezolizumab; KEYNOTE-361, pembrolizumab; and CheckMate901, nivolumab). Only CheckMate901 reported overall survival (OS) benefit for the combination. The reason for these inconsistent results is unclear.

Objective: Portosystemic shunts in growth-restricted fetuses are more common than previously thought. We aimed to describe fetuses with growth restriction and transient oligohydramnios in which a congenital intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (CIPSS) was noted during follow-up.
Methods: This was a retrospective study of all fetuses diagnosed with growth restriction and transient oligohydramnios during a 5-year period in a large tertiary referral center.

Neutrophils and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) contribute to thrombosis and hyperinflammation in myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN). High-density neutrophils (HDNs) and low-density neutrophils (LDNs) have recently been characterized as distinct neutrophil sub-populations with distinct morphological and functional properties. We aim to study the kinetics of NET formation and inhibition with interferon-α (IFNα) in neutrophils derived from patients with MPN as compared to matched healthy controls.

Background: Correct identification of the epidural space requires extensive training for technical proficiency. This study explores a novel bimanual haptic simulator designed for the precise insertion of an epidural needle based on loss-of-resistance (LOR) detection, providing realistic dual-hand force feedback.
Methods: The simulator, equipped with two haptic devices connected to a Tuohy needle and an LOR syringe, was designed to simulate the tissues' resistive forces felt by the user during the procedure, offer anatomical variability and record detailed performance metrics for personalized feedback.

Thyroid lobectomy has gained increasing popularity over the past decade as a treatment for differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC), largely due to a rise in the diagnosis of low-risk cancers and evidence showing no benefit from radioiodine in low-risk disease. Multiple studies have confirmed lobectomy as an effective and safe option. Its advantages over total thyroidectomy include lower complication rates and a reduced need for lifelong levothyroxine (LT4) therapy.

This retrospective cohort study aimed to define the optimal Regions of Homozygosity (ROH) size cut-offs for prediction of morbidity, based on 13 483 Chromosomal Microarray Analyses (CMA). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were generated, and area under the curve (AUC) was used to assess the predictive capability of total ROH percentage (TRPS), ROH number and ROH segment size in distinguishing between healthy (n=6,196) and affected (n=6,839) cohorts. The metrics were examined for telomeric and interstitial segments, distinct TRPS categories, and across different ancestral origins.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive subtype that accounts for 10-15 % of breast cancer. Current treatment of high-risk early-stage TNBC includes neoadjuvant chemo-immune therapy. However, the substantial variation in immune response prompts an urgent need for new immune-targeting agents.
