Dual-responsive nanoparticles for enhanced drug delivery in breast Cancer chemotherapy.

Drug delivery efficiency often affects chemotherapy outcome due to dense collagen barrier in tumor environment. Here, we report a nanoparticle capable of pH and glutathione dual-responsive drug delivery to enhance the efficacy of breast cancer chemotherapy. Maleiminated polyethylene glycol and polylactide block copolymer were synthesized as a core material, doxorubicin was encapsulated into the nanoparticle by self-assembly.

Elucidating the pharmacological effects of Compound Kushen injection on MYC-P15-CCND1 signaling pathway in nasopharyngeal carcinoma - An in vitro study.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Compound Kushen injection (CKI) is a representative medication of Chinese herbal injection and is often used in the adjuvant treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), but its antitumor mechanism is poorly understood.

Aim Of The Study: To preliminarily elucidate the effects and possible mechanisms of CKI on NPC.

Methods: In this work, we explored the possible molecular mechanisms of CKI against NPC by using network pharmacology and molecular docking.

This study aims to evaluate the anti-tumor and analgesic activities of Compound Kushen Injection(CKI) based on zebrafish model in vivo and investigate the anti-tumor mechanism. To be specific, zebrafish tumor xenotransplantation model was established by microinjection of murine LPC H12 cells into yolk sac. Then the high-dose CKI(H-CKI), medium-dose CKI(M-CKI), low-dose CKI(L-CKI) groups, and the model group were set.

Individual and combined effects of GSTM1, GSTT1, and GSTP1 polymorphisms on lung cancer risk: A meta-analysis and re-analysis of systematic meta-analyses.

Thirty-five previous meta-analyses have been reported on the individual glutathione S-transferase M1 (GSTM1) present/null, glutathione S-transferase T1 (GSTT1) present/null, and glutathione S-transferase P1 (GSTP1) IIe105Val polymorphisms with lung cancer (LC) risk. However, they did not appraise the credibility and explore the combined effects between the 3 genes and LC risk.We performed a meta-analysis and re-analysis of systematic previous meta-analyses to solve the above problems.

[Identification of chemical constituents in Qizhi Tongluo Capsules by UPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS].

Qizhi Tongluo Capsules, which is composed of 26 herbal drugs, is mainly used as the assistant therapy for apoplexy sequelae. The chemical composition of Qizhi Tongluo Capsules was complex,but its chemical constituents and the pharmacodynamic material basis remain unreported. The ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography coupled with hybrid quadrupole-orbitrap mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS) was applied to recognize the chemical constituents of Qizhi Tongluo Capsules.

Rare presentation of an isolated bilateral cerebral peduncular infarction: A case report and review of the literature.

Rationale: Due to the rarity of bilateral cerebral peduncular infarction (BCPI), its symptoms and prognosis are not clear. It is necessary to collect cases of pure cerebral peduncular infarction, explore the etiology and anatomy of midbrain infarction in depth, and develop meaningful tools for explaining clinical symptoms and predicting prognosis of patients.

Patient Concerns: We here provide a case of isolated BCPI with uncommon symptoms of ataxia, dysarthria, sensory disturbance, normal muscular strength, and full eye movements.

Kushen (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis) has a long history of use for the treatment of tumors, inflammation and other diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. Compound Kushen Injection (CKI) is a mixture of natural compounds extracted from Kushen and Baituling (Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae). The main principles of CKI are matrine (MT) and oxymatrine (OMT) that exhibit a variety of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-viral, anti-fibrotic and cardiovascular protective effects.
