Objectives: To explore the correlation between serum Golgi protein 73 (GP73) levels and the degree of fibrosis in Metabolic dysfunction associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD); to establish a non-invasive diagnostic algorithm based on serum GP73 and liver elasticity.
Methods: This is a prospective cross-sectional study, including 228 patients diagnosed with MASLD from May 2018 to January 2024 at two tertiary hospitals. Clinical data and hepatic pathological features and the correlation between serum GP73 and liver fibrosis were assessed.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought various opportunities and challenges to critical care nurses, whose emergency abilities in caring for critically ill patients are related to their safety, clinical effectiveness, and improved prognosis. Currently, there is a lack of research on the actual situation and influencing factors of ICU nurses' emergency ability during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although empirical observations from different departments can provide valuable basis for the health system to formulate preventive measures, efficient training programs and future public emergencies.

Objectives: Prediction of in-stent restenosis (ISR) is clinically important for patients with peripheral artery disease in their superficial femoral arteries (SFA) who have been treated with stenting. The aim of this study was to construct and validate a predictive model for ISR after SFA stenting based on a series of clinical and ultrasonic parameters.
Methods: This retrospective study included 381 patients who were treated with self-expanding bare nitinol stents in their SFA at our hospital between January 1, 2018, and January 1, 2022.

Objective: This study aims to introduce a two-stage surgical procedure, namely oblique lateral interbody fusion (OLIF), for spinal disorders treatment. Furthermore, clinical outcomes and imaging results are analyzed between OLIF with posterior fixation and posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) with fixation for lumbosacral curve-driven degenerative lumbar scoliosis (DLS).
Methods: 146 patients with type 2 DLS who underwent OLIF or PLIF between January 2019 and November 2023 were included.

This study introduces an innovative real-time surgical planning platform optimized for the treatment of arterial aneurysms using intrasaccular flow disruption (IFD) devices. This platform incorporates a cutting-edge fast virtual deployment (FVD) algorithm alongside a discrete element method (DEM) for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses. It facilitates the efficient virtual deployment of IFD devices, minimizing computational overhead while allowing for comprehensive postoperative hemodynamic efficacy assessment.

Adult tethered cord syndrome (ATCS) has a hidden onset and delayed clinical symptoms. The purpose of this study is to identify hub proteins in the cerebrospinal fluid of ATCS patients through bioinformatics analysis, and to find significant heterogeneity in these proteins between ATCS patients and non ATCS patients (control group). Firstly, differential genes were screened based on proteomic results.

is a traditional Chinese medicine that has shown promise for the management of chronic bronchitis (CB). We aim to assess the efficacy and safety of a preparation of named Bailing capsule (, Cs-C-Q80) compared with a placebo in patients with CB. This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group clinical trial (Chinese Clinical Trial Registry; registration number: ChiCTR1900025707) recruited patients with CB from eight hospitals in China between May 2019 and December 2020.

Since self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) were first introduced in acute colon cancer obstruction, the increased rate of primary anastomosis and improved quality of life following SEMS placement have been clearly shown. However, it was demonstrated that SEMS are associated with higher recurrence rates. Although several trials have shown that overall and disease-free survival in patients following SEMS placement is similar with patients undergoing emergency surgery, obstruction and a high incidence of recurrence imposed many concerns.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a highly prevalent chronic respiratory disease characterised by irreversible airways obstruction associated with chronic airways inflammation and remodelling, while the pathogenesis and the mechanistic differences between patients remain to be fully elucidated. We previously reported that alarmin cytokine IL-33 may contribute to the production of autoantibodies against respiratory epithelial cells. Here we expand the hypothesis that pulmonary autoimmune responses induced by airway microbiota also contribute to the progression of COPD.

Background: Accurate evaluation of the response to preoperative treatment enables the provision of a more appropriate personalized therapeutic schedule for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), which remains an enormous challenge, especially neoadjuvant immunotherapy plus chemoradiotherapy (nICRT).
Methods: This prospective, multicenter cohort study enrolled patients with LARC from 6 centers who received nICRT. The dynamic variation in the gut microbiome during nICRT was evaluated.

Background: Laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (LDG) has become a common procedure for treating advanced gastric cancer (AGC) in China. However, there is uncertainty regarding its oncological outcomes compared to open distal gastrectomy (ODG). This study aims to compare the 3-year disease-free survival (DFS) rates among patients who underwent surgery for AGC in northern China.

Objectives: We investigated whether patients with large infarct and the presence or absence of perfusion mismatch are associated with endovascular treatment benefit.
Methods: This is a post-hoc analysis of the Endovascular Therapy in Anterior Circulation Large Vessel Occlusion with a Large Infarct (ANGEL-ASPECT) randomized trial, which enrolled patients within 24 hours of onset with ASPECTS 3 to 5 or ASPECTS 0 to 2 with an infarct core 70 to 100 ml. Mismatch ratio was defined as time-to-maximum (T) >6 s cerebral volume/ischemic core volume, and mismatch volume was defined as T >6 s volume minus ischemic core volume.

Introduction: To evaluate the effect of Embrella, a novel-designed colonoscopic distal attachment, on adenoma detection rate (ADR) and adenoma per colonoscopy (APC), compared with standard colonoscopy in routine practice.
Methods: All consecutive participants who underwent routine colonoscopic examinations at 3 endoscopy centers in China were enrolled. Participants were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to the Embrella-assisted colonoscopy (EAC) or standard colonoscopy (SC) groups.

Objective: To retrospectively investigate the postoperative clinical and radiographic outcomes in elderly patients with degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS) and severe global sagittal imbalance who underwent different fusion levels.
Methods: A total of 214 patients with DLSS and severe global sagittal imbalance were included. Sagittal imbalance syndrome was defined as the severe decompensated radiographic global sagittal imbalance accompanied with the following symptoms: severe back pain in naturel posture that disappears or significantly relieves in support position, living disability with ODI score > 40% and dynamic sagittal imbalance.

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is the single largest contributor to global mortality and the leading cause of both death and premature death in China. Data on the association between cardiovascular disease and socioeconomic status are sparse, especially for Asian countries. Our study collected data to describe the socioeconomic status variation across cardiovascular disease using a large nationwide cross-sectional study.

The clinical manifestations of Danon disease, which result from the primary deficiency of the lysosome-associated membrane protein 2 gene, include cardiomyopathy, skeletal myopathy, and different degrees of intellectual disability that vary greatly among patients. The present study reports on two cases of Danon disease in two patients who only presented cardiac symptoms. Cardiac symptoms usually occur in adolescence and during a patient's twenties, and most patients die from heart failure.
