However, they are prone to aggregation and accelerated plasma clearance, which lead to reduced efficacies and increased toxicities of ADC molecules. Shielding the hydrophobicity of payloads by incorporating polyethylene glycol (PEG) elements or sugar groups into the ADC linkers has emerged as a viable alternative to directly adopting hydrophilic payloads.

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the grip strength (GS) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI) after endoscopic enucleation of the prostate (EEP).

Methods: We retrospectively collected 87 patients who underwent EEP at our center from January to December 2023. The associations between GS and post-surgical SUI at immediate, 1, 4, 12 and 24 weeks were analyzed.

Methods: After encapsulation of full-length VEGF-A mRNA into fibroblast-derived EVs via cellular nanoporation (CNP), collected VEGF-A EVs were delivered into mouse models of ischaemic injury.

Electroacupuncture (EA) is one of the most commonly used methods in acupuncture and has a good effect on pain, depression, sensory movement disorders, and other diseases. The effectiveness of EA is influenced by many factors, such as the accuracy of acupoint selection, the duration and course of EA treatment, and EA parameters. However, it has rarely been discussed whether the positive and negative electrodes of the EA instrument with acupoints at different locations and distances have an effect on the curative effect.

Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare vascular tumor that typically presents in infancy or early childhood. As awareness of KHE increases, it is imperative that the management of KHE be updated to reflect the latest evidence-based guidelines. The aim of this study was to integrate the literature and Chinese expert opinions to provide updated recommendations that will guide the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of patients with KHE.

Correlation between Serum Biomarkers and Disease Progression of Chronic Kidney Disease.

The present study aimed to assess the capability of biomarkers, including inflammatory indicators, anaemic markers, lipid markers, and renal function indices, to differentiate between different stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Expected to provide a new strategy for monitoring the development of CKD and stratified treatment management, providing valuable insights for future biomarker studies to explore early detection of CKD. The changes in inflammatory markers (interferon gamma [IFN-γ], interleukin [IL]-17A, IL-10, IL-6, IL-4, IL-2, IL-1 and white blood cells [WBC]), lipid markers (high-density lipoprotein cholesterol [HDL-c], low-density lipoprotein cholesterol [LDL-c], and triglyceride [TG]), indicators of kidney injury (serum creatinine [Scr] and blood urea nitrogen [BUN]) in 451 patients with different stages of CKD were examined.

Background: There is a clear correlation between accurate postoperative lymph node staging and the survival prognosis of patients. This study aimed to explore the application and value of indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence real-time imaging technology in lymph node sorting during radical esophagectomy for esophageal cancer.

Methods: From August 2022 to June 2023, the specimens of 66 patients who underwent esophageal cancer resection with lymph node dissection were examined.

Prognostic analysis of acute type A aortic dissection after different surgical interventions: a cohort study.

Background: Acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) requires emergency surgery, but the choice of primary surgery remains controversial. It is believed that simple ascending aorta replacement may lead to higher postoperative survival rate, while the Sun procedure [frozen elephant trunk (FET) + total arch replacement (TAR)] performed in the first stage may obtain better long-term results. The study aimed to compare the outcome of ATAAD patients who underwent the Sun procedure with those without TAR + FET.

This cross-sectional study was designed to address these associations between complement C4, habitual constipation, and sleep disturbance and presents a reference for prevention and treatment of sleep disturbance.

Methods: Based on the China Hainan Centenarian Cohort Study, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to evaluate sleep disturbance following standard procedure.

Background: Non-invasive neuromodulation is a promising approach for improving spasticity and motor function after stroke. However, it is still unclear which type of non-invasive neuromodulation is effective and evidence of important differences between them and botulinum toxin (BoNT) injection is limited. We aimed to assess the comparative efficacy and acceptability of non-invasive neuromodulation technologies and BoNT for post-stroke spasticity and motor function.

Gut microbial composition associated with risk of premature aging in women with Yin-deficiency constitution.

Background: Yin-deficiency constitution (YinDC) refers to a traditional Chinese medicine concept, characterized by an imbalance state that includes an imbalance in the gut microbiota, resulting from a relative deficiency of Yin fluids within the body. In recent years, it has become apparent that the composition and structure of the gut microbiota play a significant role in the aging process. The imbalance of gut microbiota in YinDC may accelerate the aging process.

Network analysis of the relationships between depressive symptoms and social participation activities among Chinese older adults and its implications for nursing.

Objective: Network analysis was used to explore the complex inter-relationships between social participation activities and depressive symptoms among the Chinese older population, and the differences in network structures among different genders, age groups, and urban-rural residency would be compared.

Methods: Based on the 2018 wave of the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey (CLHLS), 12,043 people aged 65 to 105 were included. The 10-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) Scale was used to assess depressive symptoms and 10 types of social participation activities were collected, including housework, tai-chi, square dancing, visiting and interacting with friends, garden work, reading newspapers or books, raising domestic animals, playing cards or mahjong, watching TV or listening to radio, and organized social activities.

Therapeutic effects and mechanisms of Juanbilijieqing fang in ameliorating gouty arthritis in a murine model.

This study aims to assess the safety, efficacy, and mechanisms of Juanbilijieqing Fang in a mouse model of gouty arthritis. C57BL/6 mice were allocated into six groups: control, gouty arthritis model, and treatment groups receiving varying doses of Juanbilijieqing Fang (low, medium, high), along with a positive control group treated with febuxostat. Gouty arthritis was induced via MSU crystal injection following a high-fat diet.

Background: Dabrafenib plus trametinib (Dab + Tram) is an approved targeted therapy in patients with mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Here, we report the efficacy, safety, and quality of life (QoL) results of Dab + Tram treatment in Chinese patients with mutation-positive metastatic NSCLC.

Methods: This is a single-arm, open-label, multicentre, phase II study (NCT04452877).

Background: Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a prevalent global renal illness and one of the main causes of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). FGF21 has been shown to ameliorate diabetic nephropathy, and in addition FGF-21-treated mice impeded mitogenicity, whereas it is unclear whether FGF21 can influence DN progression by regulating the cell cycle in diabetic nephropathy.

Methods: In order to create a diabetic model, STZ injections were given to C57BL/6J mice for this investigation.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a prevalent chronic respiratory disease worldwide. Mitochondrial quality control mechanisms encompass processes such as mitochondrial biogenesis, fusion, fission, and autophagy, which collectively maintain the quantity, morphology, and function of mitochondria, ensuring cellular energy supply and the progression of normal physiological activities. However, in COPD, due to the persistent stimulation of harmful factors such as smoking and air pollution, mitochondrial quality control mechanisms often become deregulated, leading to mitochondrial dysfunction.

Using primary and routinely collected data to determine prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity in rural China: a representative cross-sectional study of 6474 Chinese adults.

Background: In China, rising chronic diseases has coincided with the increasing burden of multimorbidity, particularly for vulnerable populations. Limited primary data are available to understand the prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity, especially in resource-limited rural areas. This study aims to conduct robust evaluations of the prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity among rural adults in China, and to compare the differences in prevalence and patterns when using primary data alone versus in combination with routinely collected data.

Background: The oxidative balance score (OBS) is a comprehensive concept that includes 16 dietary components and four lifestyle factors to assess an individual's exposure to pro-oxidants and antioxidants. This study aims to explore the relationship between OBS and the risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Methods: This cross-sectional study included nationally representative National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) participants aged 18 and above from 2005 to 2018.

A cross-sectional study of the association between dietary inflammatory index and glaucoma prevalence in a US population.

Aim: To assess the relationship between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and prevalence of glaucoma among individuals aged 40y and above in the United States.

Methods: Participants were drawn from 2 cycles of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2005-2008) for a cross-sectional study. DII was calculated from 24-hour dietary recall questionnaire conducted by experienced researchers and data analyzed in R according to the NHANES user guide, "Stratified Multi-stage Probability Sampling".
