Objective: To observe the effect of fire needling on psoriasis-like lesion and the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) pathway in mice and compare the therapeutic effect between different interventions of fire needling therapy (surrounding technique of fire needling, fire needling at "Dazhui" [GV 14] and "Zusanli" [ST 36]).
Methods: Thirty male BALB/c mice were randomized into a blank group, a model group, a dexamthasone group, a surrounding technique group and an acupoint group, 6 mice in each one. Except the blank group, the mice in the rest groups were established as psoriasis-like lesion model by topical application with imiquimod cream, once daily, consecutively for 8 days.

Objective: To compare the clinical effect between head acupuncture combined with exercise therapy and conventional acupuncture for nonspecific low back pain.
Methods: A total of 64 patients with nonspecific low back pain were randomized into an observation group (32 cases, 2 cases dropped off) and a control group (32 cases, 2 cases dropped off). In the control group, conventional acupuncture was applied at Jiaji (EX-B 2) of L to L, point, Shenshu (BL 23), Dachangshu (BL 25), Yaoyangguan (GV 3) and Weizhong (BL 40).

To analyze the research status of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer at home and abroad in the past 45 years by using bibliometric and scientific knowledge map methods,and explore the development trends in future. The literature of acupuncture and moxibustion for cancer was retrieved from CNKI and Web of Science (WOS) till December 31, 2020 since the database establishment, and CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to perform visual map analysis through cooperation network, keyword co-occurrence, keyword timeline, keyword emergence and other methods. Totally, 1 585 literature in CNKI and 1 564 literature in WOS were included, and the annual publication amount showed a fluctuating upward trend.

Based on the 28 Chinese clinical practice guidelines of acupuncture and moxibustion, this study summarized and analyzed the contents related to reaching consensus during the development process. The results indicated that all the 28 guidelines reported they have used consensus in the "recommendations" section, and provided details on consensus personnel, consensus methods, consensus process and consensus materials. However, it was found that the reporting of consensus was in need of further improvement.

Objective: To compare the effect among ultrasound-guided electroacupuncture (EA) at suprahyoid muscle group, conventional acupuncture and conventional EA at suprahyoid muscle group on pharyngeal dysphagia after stroke, and to explore its biomechanical mechanism.
Methods: A total of 120 patients with pharyngeal dysphagia after stroke were randomly divided into an observation group, a control-1 group and a control-2 group, 40 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group were treated with ultrasound-guided EA at suprahyoid muscle group; the patients in the control-1 group were treated with EA at Lianquan (CV 23), Wangu (GB 12) and Fengchi (GB 20), etc.

We found that the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of IBS was relatively reliable.

The progress of Chinese clinical research on acupuncture and moxibustion in recent 10 years was reviewed and analyzed, and corresponding suggestions were put forward for the current problems. In the past 10 years, Chinese clinical research on acupuncture and moxibustion has made considerable progress, mainly in the following areas: a series of internationally recognized clinical research evidences have been published, a preliminary acupuncture clinical evaluation system has formed, sham/placebo acupuncture control is widely used internationally, acupuncture clinical research norms and standards have been initially established. However, the following issues still need to be paid attention to in follow-up research: focus on the overall layout and refinement of clinical research, further improvement of clinical evaluation system, developing relevant norms for sham/placebo acupuncture setting and reporting, strengthening data sharing and platform integration, building a smooth basic and two-way transformation clinical pathway, etc.

Association rule analysis and cluster analysis were used to summarize the acupoint selection rules of insomnia in the elderly treated with acupuncture. By taking two articles of acupuncture-moxibustion clinical trials in foreign countries accepted by as example, the reasons are analyzed on the dual character of negative and positive results obtained in acupuncture-moxibustion trials of foreign countries. The therapeutic regimens in acupuncture-moxibustion clinical trials in foreign countries are lack of TCM thinking, the manipulation of interventions have not displayed the basic principle of TCM in treatment of diseases, which is separated the theory from the practice in treatment with Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture-moxibustion.

Through analyzing the indication distribution of the different acupoints located at the upper limbs recorded in and , the industry planning teaching materials of traditional Chinese medicine, it is discovered that the acupoints located at the upper arms are commonly selected for the treatment of scrofula and goiter, while the acupoints below the elbow at the hand meridians and those at the lower limbs of the foot meridians which running through the neck, do not have the similar indications. Based on a further analysis on the literature at ancient and modern times, it is believed that the acupoints located on the lateral side of the upper arms, especially those at the large intestine meridian of hand- perhaps have the specific effect in treatment of scrofula and goiter.

Objective: To observe the effect of moxibustion at "Zusanli" (ST 36) on distal, middle and proximal colonic mucosal injury and expression of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) positive nerve fibers of distal colonic mucosa in ulcerative colitis (UC) mice at different time points.
Methods: A total of 51 C57BL/6N mice were randomized into a 7-day control group (=8), a 7-day model group (=7), a 7-day moxibustion group (=7), a 14-day control group (=6), a 14-day model group (=14) and a 14-day moxibustion group (=9). In the model groups and the moxibustion groups, 2% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) was given for 7-day free drinking to establish the UC model.

Objective: To investigate the effect of acupuncture on default mode network (DMN) in migraine patients without aura based on functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI).
Methods: Fifteen patients with migraine were included and treated with acupuncture based on "root-knot" theory (Zuqiaoyin [GB 44] for headache, Lidui [ST 45] for headache, Zhiyin [BL 67] for headache, and point), once every other day, three times a week for 4 weeks. The patients received fMRI scanning before and after acupuncture treatment, the effect of acupuncture on DMN in patients with migraine was observed; the frequency of migraine attack, visual analogue scale (VAS) score and the using of analgesic medication before and after treatment were recorded to evaluate the curative effect of acupuncture; the migraine-specific quality of life questionnaire (MSQ), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) and self-rating depression scale (SDS) were used to evaluate the improvements of quality of life and emotional state.

By collecting and analyzing the explanation/conception, acupoint name, acupoint location, indications, acupuncture and moxibustion techniques and contraindications of -sea point recorded in () and ( '), it is found that conception of -sea point of five- points has been specifically formed, the names of -sea points of eleven meridians, the locations and the ways to locate them were recorded. But, the summaries relevant to the indications of the many -sea points have not been included in teaching materials, thus, it needs to be further analyzed. The acupuncture-moxibustion techniques at -sea point are flexible and the attention should be paid to distinguish "needling -sea point in autumn" from "needling -sea point in winter".
