Background: There is considerable practice variation in labelling, diagnosis and treatment of adults with sterile bone inflammation. We developed a expert consensus recommendations on the disease definition, diagnosis and treatment of this rare condition.
Methods: Systematic literature review and Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations-based appraisal of evidence, two Delphi surveys and three digital and in-person consensus meetings with a multidisciplinary expert panel and patient representatives.

Objective: Intracellular redox homeostasis is crucial for a series of physiological processes. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) play important roles in redox processes. ROS can maintain cell reproduction and survival at moderate levels while promoting the initiation and progression of tumors at high levels.

To investigate the midterm and long-term efficacy of flow-diverter device in treating intracranial aneurysms (IAs) and analyze its clinical outcomes in anterior circulation aneurysms and posterior circulation aneurysms. This is a retrospective case series study. The data of 566 intracranial aneurysm patients (681 aneurysms) treated with the flow-diverter device at Department of Neurosurgery, Beijing Neurosurgical Institute, Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University from January 2018 to January 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.

Neuronal death plays a crucial role in early brain injury after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). PANoptosis is a programmed form of cell death regulated by the PANoptosome, which possesses key characteristics of pyroptosis, apoptosis and necroptosis. Phosphoglycerate mutase family member 5 (PGAM5) has specific phosphatase activity that phosphorylates or dephosphorylates serine and threonine residues on bound proteins such as receptor-interacting protein kinase 1 (RIPK1), which are involved in programmed cell death.

Background: Inflammation is associated with adverse outcomes of chronic kidney disease (CKD) or chronic heart failure (CHF), but few large data exist. We aimed to explore the clinical associations, and prognostic consequences of inflammation-based scores in patients with CKD and CHF.
Methods: This work was a retrospective cohort study.

Stroke is classified as ischemic or hemorrhagic, and there are few effective treatments for either type. Immunologic mechanisms play a critical role in secondary brain injury following a stroke, which manifests as cytokine release, blood-brain barrier disruption, neuronal cell death, and ultimately behavioral impairment. Suppressing the inflammatory response has been shown to mitigate this cascade of events in experimental stroke models.

Diabetic nephropathy (DN) presents a significant public health challenge due to its high rate of incidence and severe health consequences. Renalase has been identified as having renal-protective properties. A key contributor to albuminuria in DN patients is podocyte loss.

Preoperative peritumoral edema (PTE) in intracranial meningiomas is known to be a risk factor for postoperative recurrence. However, there are two groups: those in which preoperative PTE remains and those in which preoperative PTE receded after tumor removal. We aimed to investigate whether postoperative PTE could improve the prediction of prognosis of meningioma with preoperative PTE.

Invasive mechanical ventilation stands as a principal therapeutic intervention in the intensive care unit (ICU), yet there exists a lack of standardized data management protocols. To address this, the Chinese Society of Critical Care Medicine organized a working group from disciplines including critical care medicine, respiratory and critical care medicine, respiratory therapy, and health informatics. This group formulated the Expert consensus on core data elements and definitions for adult invasive mechanical ventilation (2024).

Our study aims to explore the pharmacokinetics of valproic acid (VPA) in Chinese patients with epilepsy or after neurosurgery and establish a robust population pharmacokinetics (PPK) model. The PPK model was developed using nonlinear mixed-effects modeling, incorporating a total of 615 VPA plasma concentration data points from 443 Chinese epilepsy or after neurosurgery patients. A one-compartment model with an additive residual model was established.

Background: Pressure support ventilation (PSV) is one of the most frequently used ventilator modes in the intensive care unit (ICU). The successful implementation of PSV depends on matching the patient's inspiratory effort with the ventilator support. In clinical practice, the pressure support level is usually set and adjusted according to tidal volume and respiratory rate.

Objective: To delineate the structural connectome alterations in patients with chronic migraine (CM), episodic migraine (EM), and healthy controls (HCs).
Background: The pathogenesis of migraine chronification remains elusive, with structural brain network changes potentially playing a key role. However, there is a paucity of research employing graph theory analysis to explore changes in the whole brain structural networks in patients with CM and EM.
