Objective: This study aimed to explore the pathogenic genes and mutation sites of macrodactyly.
Methods: Whole-exome sequencing was performed on the pathological tissue and peripheral blood of 12 patients with macrodactyly who were operated in our hospital between June 2018 and May 2020. In order to conduct comprehensive bioinformatics analysis and screen the pathogenic genes of macrodactyly, the patients were divided into four groups: macrodactyly of finger group, macrodactyly of foot group, macrodactyly and syndactyly of finger group, and macrodactyly and syndactyly of foot group.

Bloodstream infections remain prevalent in intensive care units, leading to a public health challenge worldwide. Routine diagnosis is mainly based on blood culture, but the technique is limited by its time-consuming process and relatively low sensitivity. Emerging molecular diagnostic tools, such as 16S metagenomics, have been developed for detecting bacteria in the blood samples of septic patients.

The aims of this study were to determine the relationships between changes inlatency and amplitude of the P300 event-related potential component and cognitive impairmentsin patients after a transient ischemic attack (TIA) or a minor stroke and to assess thesuitability of the P300 for screening for cognitive impairments. Sixty-five TIA or minor stroke patients diagnosed at the NeurologyDepartment of Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Capital Medical University from June 2015 toDecember 2016 and 30 healthy people evaluated in the same period were included. Allpatients were examing neuropsychological scales and event-related potentials within7 ± 3 days of onset of the disease.

Background: Despite the capability of emergency surgery to reduce the mortality of severe spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage (SSICH) patients, the effect and safety of surgical treatment for severe spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage (SSICH) patients receiving long-term oral antiplatelet treatment (LOAPT) remains unclear. In consideration of this, the cohort study is aimed at figuring out the effect and safety of emergency surgery for SSICH patients on LOAPT.
Methods: As a multicenter and prospective cohort study, it will be conducted across 7 representative clinical centers.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the three-dimensional (3D) anatomical relationship between the suprascapular nerve and scapula, and the method of protecting the suprascapular nerve in reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) METHODS: In the present study, 12 fresh adult cadaver shoulder specimens were dissected. X-ray and computed tomography (CT) were used to investigate the 3D scapular and suprascapular nerve images.
Results: The results revealed that the best fitting baseplate diameter was 24.

Background: The thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) osteoarthritis is very common. Multiple methods are used to treat progressive thumb CMC osteoarthritis, among which trapeziometacarpal arthrodesis and trapezial excision with ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition (LRTI) are the most common. These two surgical treatment methods have received mixed reviews in previous studies in the west patients.

The aim of this investigation was to assess expression of programmed death-1 (PD-1) and inflammatory status after hip fracture surgery in aged mice and to evaluate the effect of anti-PD-1 antibody intervention. Male C57BL/6 mice aged 22-28 months underwent hip fracture and femoral intramedullary pinning or a sham procedure. Expression of PD-1 was measured on CD4 and CD8 T cells.

The treatment of urethral strictures remains a challenging field in urology even though there are a variety of procedures to treat it at present, as no one approach is superior over another. This paper reviewed the surgical options for the management of different sites and types of anterior urethral stricture, providing a brief discussion of the controversies regarding this issue and suggesting possible future advancements. Among the existing procedures, simple dilation and direct vision internal urethrotomy are more commonly used for short urethral strictures ( <1 cm, soft and no previous intervention).

Aim Of The Study: Thiopurines are effective drugs in treating neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders and other diseases. Thiopurines' toxicity is mainly imputed to thiopurine S-methyltransferase activity. In Chinese population, the most common and important variation of thiopurine S-methyltransferase is TPMT*3C (rs1142345).

Background: Volume-targeted noninvasive ventilation (VT-NIV), a hybrid mode that delivers a preset target tidal volume (V) through the automated adjustment of pressure support, could guarantee a relatively constant target V over pressure-limited noninvasive ventilation (PL-NIV) with fixed-level pressure support. Whether VT-NIV is more effective in improving ventilatory status in subjects with acute hypercapnic respiratory failure (AHRF) remains unclear. Our aim was to verify whether, in comparison with PL-NIV, VT-NIV would be more effective in correcting hypercapnia, hence reducing the need for intubation and improving survival in subjects with AHRF.

The paradoxical coexistence of spontaneous tumor antigen-specific immune response with progressive disease in cancer patients need to dissect the molecular pathways involved in tumor-induced T-cell dysfunction or exhaustion. Programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) has been identified as a marker of exhausted T cells in chronic disease states, and blockade of PD-1-PD-L1 interactions has been shown to partially restore T-cell function. We have found that T-cell immunoglobulin mucin (Tim) 3 is expressed on CD8+ tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) isolated from patients with colorectal cancer.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of human adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs) on the viability and apoptosis of human bladder cancer cells. EJ and T24 cells were cocultured with ADSCs or cultured with conditioned medium of ADSCs (ADSC-CM), respectively. The cell counting and colony formation assay showed ADSCs inhibited the proliferation of EJ and T24 cells.
