Zhenqing recipe relieves diabetic nephropathy through the SIK1/SREBP-1c axis in type 2 diabetic rats.

Am J Transl Res

December 2021

Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liyuan Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Wuhan 430077, Hubei, China.

Background: Salt-inducible kinase 1 (SIK1) plays an important role in lipid metabolism, which inhibits lipid synthesis by directly phosphorylating multiple serine residue sites of sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1c (SREBP-1c). This study examined potential therapeutic effect of a Chinese herbal medicine Zhenqing Recipe (ZQR) and metformin on diabetic nephropathy and investigated whether the SIK1/SREBP-1c axis is involved.

Methods: The rat model of type 2 diabetes was developed by high-sucrose plus high fat diet for one month combined with low-dose Streptozocin intraperitoneal injection for three days, after which the presence of hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia was examined to validate the model.

Introduction: Psoriasis is a common, recurrent, immune skin disease, which seriously affects patients' quality of life. In clinical practice, modified Runji ointment can effectively treat mild-to-moderate psoriasis with blood dryness syndrome, but there is a lack of high-quality evidence-based medical evidence. This trial aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of nano-modified Runji ointment in the treatment of mild-to-moderate psoriasis with blood dryness syndrome.

Hyperuricemia, an independent risk factor for ensuing chronic kidney disease (CKD), contributed to tubulointerstitial fibrosis and insufficiency of renal fatty acid oxidation. Many studies have shown that renal fatty acid oxidation dysfunction is related to the TGF-1/Smad3 signaling pathway. We experimented the effects of Zishen Qingre Tongluo Formula (ZQTF) on the adenine/yeast-induced HN rats and uric acid-induced renal mouse tubular epithelial cells (mTECs), determined whether this effect was related to the TGF-1/Smad3 signaling pathway, and further investigated the relationship between this effect and renal fatty acid oxidation.

Although pericallosal artery aneurysms (PAAs) are relatively uncommon, accounting for only 1-9% of all intracranial aneurysms (IAs), they exhibit a considerably high propensity to rupture. Nevertheless, our current knowledge of the risk factors for PAA rupture is still very limited. To fill this gap, we investigated rupture risk factors for PAAs based on morphological computer-assisted semiautomated measurement (CASAM) and hemodynamic analysis.
