Uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC) is infiltrated by immune cells, which are involved in the growth and proliferation of malignant tumors and resistance to immunotherapy. This study suggested that RNA modification regulators played an important role in the development and prognosis of UCEC. Many studies confirmed that RNA modification played an essential role in tumor immune regulation, and abnormal RNA modification contributed to tumorigenesis and cancer progression.

Role of PPARG in Chemosensitivity-Regulating Network for Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

PPAR Res

September 2023

Department of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing 100730, China.

PPARG has been reported to promote chemosensitivity in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HSCC). However, few studies tested its significance in the texture of a complex molecular network regulating chemosensitivity in HSCC. Here, we first employed RNA expression data analysis and literature data mining to uncover candidate genes related to HSCC chemosensitivity.

Objective: To predict the volume and shape of the balloon before PBC by reconstructing the Meckel's cave (MC) and establishing a volumetric measurement model, supporting preoperative preparation and intraoperative decisions.

Methods: The clinical data of 31 patients with good therapeutic effects who underwent PBC are retrospectively collected, including preoperative MRI, the volume of contrast agent injected into the balloon, and intraoperative lateral X-ray images. The MC on the affected side of the 31 patients is reconstructed based on MRI using 3D Slicer, while the volume of the MC is calculated to compare with the volume of contrast agent.

Article Synopsis
  • Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are serious skin reactions with high risk of death, and this study evaluates the effectiveness of three TNF-α inhibitors (infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab) in treating these conditions.
  • The analysis included 55 studies with data on 125 patients, finding mortality rates varied significantly among treatments; etanercept showed better outcomes with 0% mortality in SJS and SJS-TEN overlap cases, while infliximab had higher rates in TEN.
  • Overall, etanercept not only led to shorter hospital stays but also demonstrated a survival advantage compared to other treatments, reducing complications significantly.

Beijing Key Lab for Immune-Mediated Inflammatory Diseases, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing, China. Electronic address:

As the final product of purine metabolism, excess serum uric acid (SUA) aggravates the process of some metabolic diseases. SUA causes renal tubule damage, interstitial fibrosis, and glomerular hardening, leading to gouty nephropathy (GN). A growing number of investigations have shown that NF-κB mediated inflammation and oxidative stress have been directly involved in the pathogenesis of GN.
