To achieve carbon neutrality, solar photovoltaic (PV) in China has undergone enormous development over the past few years. PV datasets with high accuracy and fine temporal span are crucial to assess the corresponding carbon reductions. In this study, we employed the random forest classifier to extract PV installations throughout China in 2015 and 2020 using Landsat-8 imagery in Google Earth Engine.

Disrupted brain networks underlying high-fidelity memory retrieval in subjective cognitive decline: A task-based fMRI study.

Alzheimers Dement

December 2024

Center on Aging Psychology, CAS Key Laboratory of Mental Health, Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.

Introduction: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is linked to memory complaints and disruptions in certain brain regions identified by molecular imaging and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging studies. However, it remains unclear how these regions interact to contribute to both subjective and potential objective memory issues in SCD.

Methods: To address this gap, task-based imaging studies are essential.

Comprehensive site- and structure-specific profiling of N-glycosylation of edible bird's nest (EBN) proteome using label-free quantitative glycoproteomics.

Food Chem

December 2024

Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine, Beijing 100176, People's Republic of China. Electronic address:

Glycoproteins, which are involved in numerous biological functions, are among the most critical functional ingredients in an edible bird's nest (EBN). To gain a comprehensive understanding of the glycoprotein species within EBN, a label-free, site-specific glycoproteomic approach was used to analyze their N-glycoproteins, N-glycopeptides, and N-glycans systematically. A total of 127 N-glycoproteins were identified in EBN, of which 72 were found in house-EBN and 63 in cave-EBN, yielding 4195 and 5649 glycopeptides, respectively.

Background: In clinical practices, doctors usually need to synthesize several single-modality medical images for diagnosis, which is a time-consuming and costly process. With this background, multimodal medical image fusion (MMIF) techniques have emerged to synthesize medical images of different modalities, providing a comprehensive and objective interpretation of the lesion.

Purpose: Although existing MMIF approaches have shown promising results, they often overlook the importance of multiscale feature diversity and attention interaction, which are essential for superior visual outcomes.

High-Brightness Color-Tunable AC-Driven Quantum Dot Light-Emitting Diodes for Integrated Passive High-Electric-Field Contactless Detection.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

December 2024

Institute of Optoelectronics Technology, Key Laboratory of Luminescence and Optical Information, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing 100044, China.

This work explores the carrier recombination dynamics of AC-driven quantum dot (QD) light-emitting diodes (AC-QLEDs) and proposes their application in the field of electric field contactless detection. Different sequences of green QD (GQD)/red QD (RQD) bilayer thin films as the emission layer of AC-QLEDs were fabricated via film transfer printing to ensure the complete morphology of each layer. AC-QLEDs with the emission layer as the sequence of GQD + RQD (GR-QLEDs) show a significantly enhanced carrier recombination efficiency due to its stable energy level structure, achieving the highest peak brightness ever recorded for vertically emitting brightness of 1648.

Photoinduced electron transfer enables cytochrome P450 enzyme-catalyzed reaction cycling.

Plant Physiol Biochem

December 2024

Chengdu Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu, 610213, China. Electronic address:

Cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs), the members of the largest superfamily of enzymes in plant kingdom, catalyze a variety of functional group transformations involved in metabolite biosynthesis, end-product derivatization, and exogeneous molecule detoxification. Nevertheless, CYPs' functional characterization and practically industrial application have been largely encumbered by their critical dependency on the reducing equivalent for the catalytic cycling, driven by the tedious electron relay mediated by CYP reductase (CPR). Here, we report a photoinduced electron transfer system that initiates and sustains the CYP-catalyzed reaction cycling.

Evaluation of volatile safety in children's play mats based on non-targeted screening and risk prioritization.

Ecotoxicol Environ Saf

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Consumer Product Quality Safety Inspection and Risk Assessment for State Market Regulation, Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine, Beijing 100176, China. Electronic address:

Given the widespread use of play mats and their close contact with children, it is crucial to identify potential chemical hazards associated with these products. In this study, 34 play mats, comprising four materials (3 EPE, 15 XPE, 5 PVC, 11 EVA), were subjected to non-targeted screening based on headspace gas chromatography-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry (HS-GC-Orbitrap HRMS), which screened out 71 volatile substances. The 20 significantly different substances were recognized by partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), while the characteristic substances in each type of play mat were determined through clustering heat map and Venn diagram.

Functional foods that are illegally adulterated with chemical hypoglycemic drugs or their derivatives pose serious risks to human health. However, the detection of these compounds is a challenge due to the unknown nature of their structures, particularly as many of these compounds are newly synthesized and lack standardized references. In this study, we developed a non-targeted screening strategy for detecting illegally added hypoglycemic drugs and their derivatives in oral solution and hard capsule functional foods.

Industrial digital radiographic image denoising based on improved KBNet.

J Xray Sci Technol

December 2024

Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

Industrial digital radiography (DR) images are essential for industrial inspections, but they often suffer from strong scatter, cross-talk, electronic noise, and other factors that affect image quality. The presence of non-zero mean noise and neighborhood correlation loss in 1D array scanning poses significant challenges for denoising. To enhance the denoising process of industrial DR images and address the issues of low resolution and noise, we propose an improved KBNet (iKBNet) that incorporates lightweight modifications and introduces novel elements to the original KBNet.

An accurate IDMS-based method for absolute quantification of phytohemagglutinin, a major antinutritional component in common bean.

J Food Sci

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Specialty Agri-Product Quality and Hazard Controlling Technology of Zhejiang, College of Life Sciences, China Jiliang University, Hangzhou, P.R. China.

Phytohemagglutinin (PHA), a natural tetramer comprising PHA-E and PHA-L subunits that preferentially bind to red and white blood cells, respectively, constitutes a significant antinutritional and allergenic factor in common bean seeds. The accurate measurement of PHA content is a prerequisite for ensuring food safety inspections and facilitating genetic improvements in common bean cultivars with reduced PHA levels. Currently, mainstream methods for PHA quantification involve hemagglutination assays and immunodetection, but these methods often require fresh animal blood and lack specificity and accuracy.
