Background: Drug-induced thrombocytopenia (DITP) often occurs in patients during clinical treatment. However, clinicians usually fail to distinguish which drugs can be plausible culprits accurately. We aimed to develop a large comprehensive drug benchmark database with DITP toxicity using the recommended method by FDA.

To enhance the safety of coal mining operations and improve the efficiency of gas extraction, hydraulic flushing technology has been widely used in low permeability coal seams. This study aims to investigate the mechanism of hydraulic flushing by conducting experiments focusing on four aspects: sample strength, punching pressure, punching position and vibration direction. The results show that an increase in hydraulic flushing pressure leads to a deeper impact groove, whereas higher sample strength results in a shallower groove.

Erythromycin is becoming one of the most common contaminants detected in surface water and wastewater, which poses a potential risk to ecological systems and human health. Until now, there is still no effective way to eliminate it. Herein, a novel and efficient erythromycin-degrading fungus Peniophora incarnata F1, capable of utilizing erythromycin as its sole source of carbon and energy, was isolated from contaminated sludge.

Ensuring the mechanical performance of backfill materials while reducing cementation costs is a key challenge in mine backfill research. To address this, fiber materials such as polypropylene (PP) fiber and rice straw (RS) fiber have been incorporated into cement-based mixtures for mine backfilling. This study investigates the effects of PP and RS fibers on the mechanical properties, flow characteristics, and microstructure of Tailings and Wasted Stone Mixed Backfill (TWSMB).

Soft robots are usually manufactured using the pouring method and can only be configured with a fixed execution area, which often faces the problem of insufficient or wasteful performance in real-world applications, and cannot be reused for other tasks. In order to overcome this limitation, we propose a simple and controllable rather than redesigned method inspired by the bionic growth behavior of plants, and prepare bionic soft robots that can just meet the requirements of use, and transform biological intelligence into mechanical intelligence. Based on finite element method, we establish a theoretical model of soft robot performance.

Peptide sequencing via tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is essential in proteomics. Unlike traditional database searches, deep learning excels at de novo peptide sequencing, even for peptides missing from existing databases. Current deep learning models often rely on autoregressive generation, which suffers from error accumulation and slow inference speeds.

Particulate matters (PMs), one of the major airborne pollutants, continue to seriously threaten human health and the environment. Here, a self-crystal-induced electret enhancement (SCIEE) strategy was developed to promote the in-situ electret effect and polarization properties of electrospun poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) nanofibers. The strategy specifically involved the elaborate pre-structuring of stereocomplex crystals (SCs) with uniform dimensions (∼300 nm), which were introduced into PLLA electrospinning solution as the electrets and physical cross-linking points of high density.

Texenomycins are a family of linear lipopeptaibols with a long polyketide side chain at the N-terminus and 21 amino acid residues at the -terminus, presenting demonstrated potential as antibiotics against plant fungal pathogens. In this study, texenomycins were identified and isolated from the fungus strain TTI-0396 and showed effective antifungal properties against two plant pathogens and . Through analysis of the whole-genome data of strain TTI-0396, we discovered a hybrid PKS-NRPS system with the polyketide synthase (PKS: TexQ), thioesterase (TexO), acyl-CoA ligase (TexI), and three nonribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPSs: TexG, TexJ, TexV) in the gene cluster that were proposed to be responsible for the biosynthesis of texenomycins and another related lipopeptaibol, lipohexin.

Coal gangue, a solid waste generated during coal mining and washing processes, has caused significant environmental burdens in China. This study aims to optimize and investigate the leaching mechanisms of heavy metals, such as Pb, Zn, and Cu, in coal gangue. The effectiveness of different eluents in removing heavy metals from coal gangue was evaluated by combining experimental methods with software simulations.

Characterizing anisotropy remains challenging in rock mechanics. Particularly, the strengths and failure patterns of layered shales under shear load are significantly anisotropic mainly because of the bedding planes. Meanwhile, understanding the creation and propagation of shear fractures is critical for drilling, mining, tunnelling, exploitation of shale gas, etc.

Solar-driven overall conversion of CO and HO into fuels and chemicals shows an ultimate strategy for carbon neutrality yet remains a huge challenge. Herein, an integrated photocatalytic redox architecture of Zn NPs/GaN Nanowires (NWs)/Si is explored for light-driven overall conversion of CO and HO into CH and HO simultaneously without any external sacrificial agents and additives. The as-designed architecture affords a benchmark CH activity of 189 mmol g h with a high selectivity of 93.

Proton exchange membrane water electrolyzers powered by sustainable energy represent a cutting-edge technology for renewable hydrogen generation, while slow anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) kinetics still remains a formidable obstacle that necessitates basic comprehension for facilitating electrocatalysts' design. Here, we report a low-iridium complex oxide LaSrIrO with a unique hexagonal structure consisting of isolated Ir(V)O octahedra and true peroxide O groups as a highly active and stable OER electrocatalyst under acidic conditions. Remarkably, LaSrIrO, containing 59 wt % less iridium relative to the benchmark IrO, shows about an order of magnitude higher mass activity, 6-folds higher intrinsic activity than the latter, and also surpasses the state-of-the-art Ir-based oxides ever reported.

Earthquakes, as significant natural disasters, still cannot be accurately predicted today. Although current earthquake early warning systems can provide alerts several seconds in advance, acute stress responses (ASR) in emergency situations can waste these precious escape seconds. To investigate the correlation between personality and ASR, this study collected the temperament and character of all participants using the Chen Huichang-60 Temperament Scale and the DISC Personality Inventory.

Ozone pollution was widely reported along with PM reduction since 2013 in China. However, the meteorological drivers for ozone varying with different regions of China remains unknown using explainable machine learning, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here we first analyzed spatiotemporal variations of PM and ozone from 2015 to 2022 in eleven urban agglomerations of China.

It is crucial to understand the scaling behaviors of acoustic emissions (AEs) preceding damage localization in order to predict failures of brittle solids under compression. Yet, the effect of length scale on the complex interplay between the initiation, propagation, and coalescence of pre-existing fracture networks and corresponding AE behaviors is poorly understood. In this study, we perform laboratory compressional experiments on naturally fractured rocks at four sample sizes from 50 to 300 mm whose strength generally exhibits a finite-size effect.
