Association of blood pressure variability with target organ damage in older patients with essential hypertension.

Background: Although multiple measures of blood pressure variability (BPV) have been proposed, whether they are better than mean blood pressure in predicting target organs is unclear. We aimed to determine the relationship between short term BPV and target organ injury.

Methods: This study was a retrospective study, and 635 inpatients in the Department of Cardiology from 2015 to 2020 were selected.

Misdiagnosis of adult primary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis as NK/T-cell lymphoma: A case report.

We reported a case of a 19-year-old male patient with central nervous system symptoms as the main clinical manifestations, and multiple intracranial and abdominal occupying lesions visualized by imaging examinations, who was initially misdiagnosed as NK/T-cell lymphoma but poorly responsive to the treatment. Finally, he was diagnosed as familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis type-2 by genome sequencing, perforin test and pedigree study. The patient survived well after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Analysis of risk factors for lateral lymph node metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma: A retrospective cohort study.

Objective: To investigate the risk factors for lateral lymph node metastasis (LLNM) in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 209 patients with PTC who underwent primary surgery at the Beijing Friendship Hospital affiliated with Capital Medical University from November 2014 to November 2018 was performed. The patients were divided into the LLNM group and the non-LLNM group.

Plasma fatty acid profile is related to cognitive function in obese Chinese populations (35-64 years): A cross-sectional study.

Background: A fast-growing body of evidence suggests that dietary lipids influence cognition, but the effects of dietary fatty acid (FA) intake and plasma FA profile on cognitive function in obese populations are currently unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the dietary FA intakes and plasma FA composition and their association with cognitive functions in obese and overweight populations aged 35-64 years.

Methods: A total of 672 subjects were recruited and divided into normal-weight, overweight, and obese groups based on their body mass index (BMI).

Highly upregulated in liver cancer (HULC) had a significant predictive effect on tumor growth and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC); however, the mechanisms of HULC on HCC still need to be clarified. We attempted to determine the roles of HULC and miR-107 in autophagy and invasion of HCC. HULC siRNA reduced the level of autophagy.

Combination of Amino-Terminal Pro- BNP , Estimated GFR , and High-Sensitivity CRP for Predicting Cardiorenal Syndrome Type 1 in Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients.

Background Cardiorenal syndrome type 1 ( CRS 1) as a complication of acute myocardial infarction can lead to adverse outcomes, and a method for early detection is needed. This study investigated the individual and integrated effectiveness of amino-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (Pro-BNP), estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) as predictive factors for CRS 1 in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods and Results In a retrospective analysis of 2094 patients with acute myocardial infarction, risk factors for CRS 1 were analyzed by logistic regression.
