Introduction: A pan-genotypic and effective treatment regimen for patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection remains an unmet medical need in China. Alfosbuvir is a novel potent HCV NS5B polymerase inhibitor in development for the treatment of chronic HCV infection. We conducted a phase 3 study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of alfosbuvir in combination with daclatasvir in Chinese patients with HCV infection.

Dynamic Changes in the Renal Function of Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients with Reduced eGFR After Emergency Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

Renal dysfunction greatly influences decision-making for emergency percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). This observational study investigated renal function changes and risk factors for renal injury in patients with AMI with reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) who underwent emergency PCI. The study included 85 patients with AMI with decreased eGFR who underwent emergency PCI, categorized into stage 2, 3, and 4 chronic kidney disease groups.

Comparison of revascularization and conservative treatment for hemorrhagic moyamoya disease in East Asian Countries: a single-center case series and a systematic review with meta-analysis.

Objective: The optimal treatment approach for hemorrhagic moyamoya disease (HMMD) remains a topic of debate, particularly regarding the comparative efficacy of revascularization versus conservative treatment. Our study, which included a single-center case series and a systematic review with meta-analysis, aimed to determine whether surgical revascularization is associated with a significant reduction in postoperative rebleeding, ischemic events, and mortality compared to conservative treatment among East Asian HMMD patients.

Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review by searching PubMed, Google Scholar, Wanfang Med Online (WMO), and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI).

Association of Abdominal Incision Length With Gastrointestinal Function Recovery Post-operatively: A Multicenter Registry System-Based Retrospective Cohort Study.

To evaluate the influence of the abdominal incision length on the gastrointestinal function recovery post-operatively. Gut motility recovers more quickly after the minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery compared than after the traditional open surgery; however, whether the minimal abdominal incision contributes to the faster gut motility recovery is controversial and lacks solid clinical evidence. A registry-based secondary cohort analysis was conducted to evaluate the association between the abdominal incision length and gut motility recovery post-operatively based on a multicenter, prospective, and observational study of the prolonged post-operative ileus (PPOI) incidence and the risk factors in the patients with the major abdominal surgery.

Incomplete protective effect of coronary collateral circulation for acute myocardial infarction patients.

The short-term and long-term effects of coronary collateral circulation (CCC) discovered after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) are still debatable. This retrospective cohort study aimed to explore the clinical significance of CCC for AMI patients.A consecutive series of 323 AMI patients with CCC and 1339 AMI subjects without CCC were enrolled, most of them received percutaneous coronary intervention after AMI.

Predictive model for acute respiratory distress syndrome events in ICU patients in China using machine learning algorithms: a secondary analysis of a cohort study.

Background: To develop a machine learning model for predicting acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) events through commonly available parameters, including baseline characteristics and clinical and laboratory parameters.

Methods: A secondary analysis of a multi-centre prospective observational cohort study from five hospitals in Beijing, China, was conducted from January 1, 2011, to August 31, 2014. A total of 296 patients at risk for developing ARDS admitted to medical intensive care units (ICUs) were included.

Sofosbuvir plus ribavirin with or without peginterferon for the treatment of hepatitis C virus: Results from a phase 3b study in China.

Background And Aim: Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog inhibitor of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5B RNA polymerase with pangenotypic potency. This phase 3b study evaluated the safety and efficacy of sofosbuvir + ribavirin ± peginterferon in Chinese patients infected with HCV genotype 1, 2, 3, or 6.

Methods: Patients with genotype 1 or 6 received sofosbuvir + peginterferon/ribavirin for 12 weeks or sofosbuvir + ribavirin for 24 weeks, depending on prior treatment and interferon eligibility.

Stromal antigen 2 (STAG2) is an important member of cohesin, a conserved complex holding the sister chromatid together. Recent whole-genome sequencing studies have identified that genetic alterations of stag2 are common in bladder cancer (BC). The prognostic implications of STAG2 expression in BC remain unclear; we therefore analyzed its associations with the histopathological characteristics and clinical outcome in a Chinese population.

A case of recurrent Cronkhite-Canada syndrome containing colon cancer.

Cronkhite-Canada syndrome (CCS) is a very rare disease which may cause malignant transformation. A combination regimen including corticosteroids are common therapy for CCS, however the decrease of medicine may lead to CCS relapse and also may contribute to malignant transformation of the polyps in gastrointestinal tract. We retrospectively analyze one case of recurrent CCS from the first time of treatment after resection of colon cancer and readjust the usage of corticoids, the patient recovered well.

Ophthalmic artery visualization and morphometry by computed tomography angiography.

We assessed the feasibility of using computed tomography angiography (CTA) to visualize the opthalmic artery (OA) and conducted three-dimensional (3D) morphometry. A retrospective analysis of 171 patients was performed using CTA-confirmed normal internal carotid arteries. To identify the OA, multiplanar CT reformations were performed.
