Background: We compared the efficacy and safety profiles of ainuovirine (ANV), a new-generation non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), with boosted elvitegravir (EVG), both coformulated with two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), in people living with HIV-1 (PLWH) who had achieved virological suppression on previous NNRTI-based antiretroviral (ARV) regimen.

Methods: This study was a multi-centre, randomised, double-blind, active-controlled, non-inferiority trial recruiting PLWH from 10 clinical centres across China. Main inclusion criteria included age of 18-65 years (inclusive), and stably staying on an ARV regimen combining an NNRTI with a two-drug NRTI backbone for at least 12 months.

Methods: We measured the concentrations of 45 cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors in CSF from 112 untreated syphilis cases, including latent syphilis (LS), asymptomatic neurosyphilis (ANS), meningeal neurosyphilis (MNS), meningovascular neurosyphilis (MVNS), paralytic dementia (PD), and ocular syphilis (OS).

Objective: We aimed to investigate dysregulated metabolic pathways and identify diagnostic and therapeutic targets in patients with tuberculosis-diabetes (TB-DM).

Methods: In our prospective cohort study, plasma samples were collected from healthy individuals, diabetic (DM) patients, untreated TB-only (TB-0)/TB-DM patients (TB-DM-0), and cured TB (TB-6)/TB-DM patients (TB-DM-6) to measure the levels of amino acids, fatty acids, and other metabolites in plasma using high-throughput targeted quantification methods.

Results: Significantly different biological processes and biomarkers were identified in DM, TB-DM-0, and TB-DM-6 patients.

In this study, we established an artificial intelligence framework for simultaneous grading diagnosis of these three pathological types through fusing multimodal tissue characterization parameters dug by quantitative ultrasound methods derived from ultrasound radiofrequency signals, B-mode images, shear wave elastography images, and clinical ultrasound systems, using the liver biopsy results as the classification criteria. Glioblastomas are known for their poor clinical prognosis, with recurrent tumors often exhibiting greater invasiveness and faster growth rates compared to primary tumors. To understand the intratumoral changes driving this phenomenon, we employed single-cell sequencing to analyze the differences between two pairs of primary and recurrent glioblastomas. Our findings revealed an upregulation of ferroptosis in endothelial cells within recurrent tumors, identified by the significant overexpression of the NOX4 gene.
