Remote sensing images often suffer from the degradation effects of atmospheric haze, which can significantly impair the quality and utility of the acquired data. A novel dehazing method leveraging generative adversarial networks is proposed to address this challenge. It integrates a generator network, designed to enhance the clarity and detail of hazy images, with a discriminator network that distinguishes between dehazed and real clear images.

Research on silicon (Si) biogeochemistry and its beneficial effects for plants has received significant attention over several decades, but the reasons for the emergence of high-Si plants remain unclear. Here, we combine experimentation, field studies and analysis of existing databases to test the role of temperature on the expression and emergence of silicification in terrestrial plants. We first show that Si is beneficial for rice under high temperature (40 °C), but harmful under low temperature (0 °C), whilst a 2 °C increase results in a 37% increase in leaf Si concentrations.

Effective modulation of gene expression in plants is achievable through tools like CRISPR and RNA interference, yet methods for directly modifying endogenous proteins remain lacking. Here, we identify the E3 ubiquitin ligase E3TCD1 and develope a Targeted Condensation-prone-protein Degradation (TCD) strategy. The X-E3TCD1 fusion protein acts as a genetically engineered degrader, selectively targeting endogenous proteins prone to condensation.

In recent years, metal hydride research has become one of the driving forces of the high-pressure community, as it is believed to hold the key to superconductivity close to ambient temperature. While numerous novel metal hydride compounds have been reported and extensively investigated for their superconducting properties, little attention has been focused on the atomic and electronic states of hydrogen, the main ingredient in these novel compounds. Here, we present combined H- and La-NMR data on lanthanum superhydrides, LaH, (x = 10.

Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) are promising emitters for biological applications because of their excellent fluorescence, convenient surface modification, and photostability. However, the toxic cadmium composition in the state-of-the-art QDs and their inferior properties in the aqueous phase greatly restrict further use. The performance of water-soluble indium phosphide (InP) QDs lags far behind those of Cd-containing counterparts due to the lack of effective surface protection.

DL-3-n-butylphthalide (NBP) exhibits promising pharmacological efficacy against ischemia-reperfusion injury, but its protective effects may involve many mechanisms that are yet to be fully understood. This study aimed to profile the metabolic alterations induced by NBP during the process of ischemia-reperfusion using spatial metabolomics. Our study found that NBP could significantly reduce the ischemic area and restore physical function by potentially modulating pathways of the citrate cycle, pyruvate metabolism, autophagy, and unsaturated fatty acid biosynthesis.

With developments in computer science and technology, great progress has been made in three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound. Recently, ultrasound-based 3D bone modelling has attracted much attention, and its accuracy has been studied for the femur, tibia, and spine. The use of ultrasound allows data for bone surface to be acquired non-invasively and without radiation.

The reduction of CO mediated by transition metals has garnered significant interest, yet little is known about the reduction of CO using f-element compounds. Herein, the reduction of CO to CO by tetravalent uranium (U) compound UO is investigated via matrix isolation infrared spectroscopy and quantum chemical study. Our results reveal that a stable carbonate intermediate OUCO () can be prepared at low temperatures (4-12 K).

Time persistence is a fundamental property of many complex physical and biological systems; thus understanding the phenomenon in the brain is of high importance. Time persistence has been explored at the level of stand-alone neural time-series, but since the brain functions as an interconnected network, it is essential to examine time persistence at the network level. Changes in resting-state networks have been previously investigated using both dynamic (i.

Introduction: Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality globally, with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) comprising the majority of cases. For advanced NSCLC, immunotherapy offers substantial survival benefits but is often accompanied by severe immune-related adverse events symptoms, significantly affecting health-related quality of life (HRQoL). Routinely collection of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) followed by automated alerts has been shown to improve overall survival and HRQoL for cancers.

However, the prognostic significance of this pattern has not been definitively established. Consequently, this research aimed to clarify the prognostic implications of the MELF pattern for individuals diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma.

Multicolor fluorescent encryption systems that respond to specific stimuli have drawn widespread attention to data storage and encryption due to their low cost and facile data access. However, existing encryption systems are limited by encryption materials, restricting their encryption depth. This study uses DNA molecules as encryption materials that offer exceptional specificity and encryption depth within sequences.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a significant global health challenge, particularly in high-incidence regions like East Asia. Despite improvements in screening and treatment, the progressive nature of precancerous lesions-such as atrophic gastritis, intestinal metaplasia, and dysplasia-necessitates effective prevention strategies. This review evaluates the role of chemoprevention in GC, focusing on agents designed to target these precancerous lesions.

Microplastics (MPs) have been found to interfere with the gut microbiota and compromise the integrity of the gut barrier. Excessive exposure to MPs markedly elevates the risk of cardiovascular disease, yet their influence on hypertension remains elusive, calling for investigation into their potential impacts on blood pressure (BP) regulation. In the present study, an increase in the concentration of MPs was observed in the fecal samples of individuals suffering from hypertension, as compared to the controls.

Silver-containing nanoparticles (AgCNPs) have attracted increasing concerns because of their potential adverse effects on aquatic ecosystems. However, minimal information is available regarding their concentration, distribution, and speciation in the actual environment. In this work, different species of AgCNPs, including silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), silver chloride (AgCl NPs) and silver sulfide (AgS NPs) in water and sediment samples from Taihu Lake were analyzed by a multistep selective dissolution method combined with single-particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
