Clinical and genetic characteristics of RANBP2 mutations in children with acute necrotizing encephalopathy.

Background: This study investigated RANBP2 mutations in children with acute necrotizing encephalopathy (ANE) and conducted a systematic review of the differences in clinical characteristics between with or without RANBP2 mutations.

Methods: Whole-exome sequencing was performed on 19 pediatric ANE patients at Beijing Children's Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University between 2017 and 2020. A systematic literature review was also conducted on the clinical characteristics and spectrum analysis of RANBP2 mutations.

[Correlation analysis between myopia growth and physical development parameters of school-age children in Shihezi area, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region].

To study the correlation between myopia growth and physical development of primary school student in Shihezi area of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region by measuring the ocular biometry and physical parameters of the eye, and to provide an objective basis for the development of myopia prevention and control. A cross-sectional study design was used. The Grade 1-6 students from 33 schools in Shihezi area were randomly selected in October 2023.

Study on the impact of children's myopia on parental anxiety levels and its related factors.

Objective: To assess how children's myopia affects the psychological state of their parents, especially their anxiety levels, and its related factors.

Methods: Using a cross-sectional case series design, this study employed the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) to assess the anxiety status of parents of myopic children who visited Beijing Children's Hospital from May to August 2024. Data were statistically analyzed using Chi-square test, t-test, and analysis of variance, and Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between myopia and anxiety.

Comorbidity of physical illnesses and mental disorders in outpatients with tic disorders: a retrospective study using the outpatient case system.

Background: Tic disorder, a chronic neurodevelopmental disorder that typically onsets during childhood, is characterized by sudden, involuntary, rapid, and non-rhythmic motor and vocal tics. Individuals with tic disorders often experience physical health issues. The purpose of our retrospective analysis was to elucidate the common comorbid physical diseases and mental disorders and their characteristics of outpatient children with tic disorders in a large public children's hospital in China over the past 5 years.

Background: Wind-cold (WC) and Wind-heat (WH) are common syndromes of upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs) in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), presenting different clinical features, but the transcriptomic changes associated with these syndromes remained unclear.

Materials And Methods: Patients with WC and WH syndromes were recruited from outpatient unit, pharyngeal swabs were collected for pathogen detection. Peripheral blood samples were obtained on day 1 and day 6, with healthy volunteers as controls.
