(), the causative agent of tuberculosis, secretes extracellular vesicles (EVs), which may play an important role in mediating interactions between bacteria and host cells. EVs can be isolated by means of various techniques, which differ in terms of their effectiveness. In the present study, we found that an exosome isolation kit (EI) yielded higher numbers of EVs than either differential centrifugation (DC) or exosome detection via an ultrafast-isolation system (EXODUS).

To understand the status of tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment capacity and the development and changes of tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment in provincial and municipal designated medical institutions in China from 2017 to 2022, so as to provide a basis for the formulation of relevant policies for the improvement and development of designated medical institutions for tuberculosis and the tuberculosis prevention and treatment service system, and to provide reasonable support for further strengthening the capacity of designated medical institutions for tuberculosis. This study was initiated and carried out by Beijing Chest Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University/Clinical Center for Tuberculosis Prevention and Control of China CDC (hereinafter referred to as "Clinical Center") by means of questionnaire survey, and the investigation was carried out from March to November 2023. During this period, the clinical center distributed questionnaires to the hospital member units of "Beijing Tuberculosis Diagnosis and Treatment Technology Innovation Alliance", retrospectively collected their tuberculosis-related diagnosis and treatment data from 2017 to 2022, and used descriptive statistical methods to analyze the number of tuberculosis beds, outpatients and hospitalizations in medical institutions.

Objective: The resistance of () to currently available fluoroquinolones (FQs), namely ofloxacin (OFX), levofloxacin (LFX), and moxifloxacin (MFX), renders the treatment of TB infections less successful. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the susceptibility and intracellular killing assay of to next-generation FQs and determine the correlation of FQs resistance and newly detected mutations in by molecular docking.
Methods: Antimicrobial susceptibility test was performed to determine the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of six FQs, including currently available FQs (OFX, LFX, and MFX) and next-generation FQs, i.

Background: Leucine-rich repeat-containing protein-25 (LRRC25) can degrade the ISG15 gene in virus-infected cells and prevent overactivation of the type Ⅰ IFN pathway. However, the role of LRRC25 in bacterial infection is still unclear. In this pursuit, the present study aimed to explore the regulatory role and mechanism of LRRC25 in microglia infected with in a mouse model.

Subclinical tuberculosis (TB) represents a substantial proportion of individuals with TB disease, although limited evidence is available to understand the epidemiological characteristics of these cases. We aimed to explore the prevalence of subclinical patients with TB and identify the underlying association between the subclinical TB cases in the study setting and the Beijing genotype. A retrospective study was conducted among patients with incident TB at the Fifth People's Hospital of Suzhou between January and December 2018.

Purpose: Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of IL-2 in the treatment of drug-susceptible tuberculosis.
Methods: First, the cases of diagnosed drug-susceptible tuberculosis were randomized into two groups-the control group that received the background regimen of isoniazid, rifampin, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol, and the experimental group that received the background regimen plus IL-2. The efficacy and safety evaluations were performed throughout the therapy process as well as 12 months after the treatment completion.

Tuberculosis (TB) patient serum cytokine levels may be predictive of anti-tuberculosis treatment progress. Here, serum levels of cytokines TNF-α, IL-4, sIL-2R and IFN-γ were measured then correlated to clinical TB manifestations, bacterial burden, chest imaging findings and clinical course. Study subjects included 67 newly diagnosed pulmonary TB (PTB) patients with active disease admitted to Beijing Chest Hospital for anti-TB chemotherapeutic treatment.

The physiological homeostasis of gut mucosal barrier is maintained by both genetic and environmental factors and its impairment leads to pathogenesis such as inflammatory bowel disease. A cytokine like molecule, FAM3D (mouse Fam3D), is highly expressed in mouse gastrointestinal tract. Here, we demonstrate that deficiency in Fam3D is associated with impaired integrity of colonic mucosa, increased epithelial hyper-proliferation, reduced anti-microbial peptide production and increased sensitivity to chemically induced colitis associated with high incidence of cancer.

Background: The patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma should select targeted drugs based on the type of tumor epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation. However, it is difficult to collect tumor tissue of advanced lung adenocarcinoma, and some experts agree that peripheral blood can be used as a substitute for tumor tissue as a test specimen. This paper aimed to investigate the clinical value of ddPCR and super-amplification refractory mutation system (ARMS) in detecting EGFR gene mutation in peripheral blood of patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma.
