Background: Precancerous lesions of cervical cancer exhibit characteristics indicative of natural progression. To prevent overtreatment of patients whose cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in regression and to predict the onset of invasive cervical cancer at an early stage, we've identified the vaginal microbiome as a potential key factor, which is associated with both HPV infection and the various cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. This study aims to investigate the microbiome characteristics of patients with various cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

RANKL blockade alleviates peri-implant bone loss and is enhanced by anti-inflammatory microRNA-146a through TLR2/4 signaling.

Int J Implant Dent

April 2020

Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, The Forsyth Institute, 245 First Street, Cambridge, MA, 02142, USA.

Background: The present study was to determine the effect of local anti-RANKL antibody administration in the presence or absence of microRNA-146a on ligature-induced peri-implant bone resorption, and the potential role of TLR2/4 signaling in such effect.

Results: Titanium implants were placed in the left maxilla alveolar bone 6 weeks after extraction of first and second molars in C57/BL6 wild-type (WT) and TLR2 TLR4 (TLR2/4 KO) mice. Silk ligatures were tied around the implants 4 weeks after implantation.

Introduction: Pressure ulcers (PUs) are associated with substantial health burden. Patients in intensive care units (ICUs) are at high risk for developing PU. In the absence of large randomised controlled trials (RCTs) that compare commonly known interventions for preventing PU in ICUs, uncertainty remains around the best practice strategy for PU management in adult ICUs.

Recent clinical trials have shown that sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) alone without axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) can offer excellent regional control if there is sentinel lymph nodes (SLN) metastases to 1-2 nodes. This study aimed to explore the predictive factors for non-sentinel lymph node (NSLN) metastasis in breast cancer patients with 1-2 positive SLNs.Patients with breast cancer and 1-2 positive SLN admitted between March 2009 and March 2017 and who underwent ALND after SLN biopsy (SLNB) at Beijing Chaoyang Hospital were analyzed retrospectively.

Percutaneous Intraductal Radiofrequency Ablation Combined with Biliary Stent Placement for Nonresectable Malignant Biliary Obstruction Improves Stent Patency but not Survival.

Medicine (Baltimore)

April 2016

From the Department of Interventional Radiology (JW, CZ, KG, QH, BW), Beijing Chao-yang Hospital Affiliated with Capital Medical University, Beijing, China; Department of General Practice (LZ), West Campus, Beijing Chaoyang Hospital Affiliated with Capital Medical University, Beijing, China; and Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery (JG), West Campus, Beijing Chao-yang Hospital Affiliated with Capital Medical University, Beijing, China.

Although radiofrequency (RF) ablation has been accepted as a curative treatment modality for solid organ tumors, intraductal RF ablation for malignant biliary obstruction has not been widely described. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy (in terms of stent patency and survival) of intraductal RF ablation combined with biliary stent placement for nonresectable malignant biliary obstruction. A search of the nonresectable malignant extrahepatic biliary obstruction database (179 patients) identified 18 consecutive patients who were treated with biliary intraluminal RF ablation during percutaneous transhepatic cholangiodrainage and inner stent placement (RF ablation group) and 18 patients who underwent inner stent placement without biliary intraluminal RF ablation (control group).
