Background: Precancerous lesions of cervical cancer exhibit characteristics indicative of natural progression. To prevent overtreatment of patients whose cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in regression and to predict the onset of invasive cervical cancer at an early stage, we've identified the vaginal microbiome as a potential key factor, which is associated with both HPV infection and the various cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. This study aims to investigate the microbiome characteristics of patients with various cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.

Relationship between serum TGF- β 1, MMP-9 and IL-1β and pathological features and prognosis in breast cancer.

To investigate the levels of serum transforming growth factor-β 1 (TGF-β1), Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and Interleukin-1 β (IL-1 β) in breast cancer (BC), and analyzing their relationship with pathological features and prognosis. Retrospective analysis of 86 subjects with BC (BC subgroup) and another 50 healthy subjects (control subgroup) during the same period were included. The clinical data were collected.

Prediction of postoperative hematoma occurrence after ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy in minimally invasive surgery for percutaneous removal of benign breast lesions.

Background: The exact factors and mechanisms involved in the development of hematoma after breast ultrasound (US)-guided vacuum-assisted biopsy (VAB) are not clear. This study aimed to analyze the occurrence, prognosis, and risk factors of hematoma after US-guided VAB for the removal of benign breast lesions.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of consecutive female patients with breast lesions (BI-RADS 3/4a/4b and confirmed as benign by core needle biopsy) removed by percutaneous excisional biopsy by US-guided VAB at the Beijing Chaoyang Hospital from April 2016 to December 2018.

Vitreous haemorrhage caused by unusual giant macular tear: a case report.

Macular tears rarely occur without trauma. Here, we describe a patient with vitreous haemorrhage, which was caused by an unusual giant macular tear secondary to existing branch retinal vein occlusion. A 60-year-old woman presented with vision loss in the right eye because of vitreous haemorrhage.

Measurement of serum intact parathyroid hormone concentration 1 day after total thyroidectomy to assess risk of permanent hypoparathyroidism.

Objective: This study was performed to assess the clinical value of measuring the intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) concentration 1 day after total thyroidectomy to estimate the occurrence of permanent hypoparathyroidism (pHPP).

Methods: Data of 546 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy from February 2008 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Calcium and iPTH concentrations were collected preoperatively and at 1 day and 6 months postoperatively.

Background: The present study was to determine the effect of local anti-RANKL antibody administration in the presence or absence of microRNA-146a on ligature-induced peri-implant bone resorption, and the potential role of TLR2/4 signaling in such effect.

Introduction: Pressure ulcers (PUs) are associated with substantial health burden. Patients in intensive care units (ICUs) are at high risk for developing PU. Percutaneous Intraductal Radiofrequency Ablation Combined with Biliary Stent Placement for Nonresectable Malignant Biliary Obstruction Improves Stent Patency but not Survival.

Although radiofrequency (RF) ablation has been accepted as a curative treatment modality for solid organ tumors, intraductal RF ablation for malignant biliary obstruction has not been widely described. The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy (in terms of stent patency and survival) of intraductal RF ablation combined with biliary stent placement for nonresectable malignant biliary obstruction. A search of the nonresectable malignant extrahepatic biliary obstruction database (179 patients) identified 18 consecutive patients who were treated with biliary intraluminal RF ablation during percutaneous transhepatic cholangiodrainage and inner stent placement (RF ablation group) and 18 patients who underwent inner stent placement without biliary intraluminal RF ablation (control group).

Efficacy and Safety of Basiliximab Versus Daclizumab in Kidney Transplantation: A Meta-Analysis.

Background: Interleukin-2 receptor antagonists (IL-2RAs) have been extensively used in kidney transplant patients to prevent the occurrence of acute rejection. The efficacy and safety of basiliximab and daclizumab, the 2 most commonly used IL-2RAs in clinics, have been compared in a number of randomized controlled trials, but no definite conclusions have been drawn.

Proteomics analysis for finding serum markers of ovarian cancer.

A combination of peptide ligand library beads (PLLB) and 1D gel liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (1DGel-LC-MS/MS) was employed to analyze serum samples from patients with ovarian cancer and from healthy controls. Proteomic analysis identified 1200 serum proteins, among which 57 proteins were upregulated and 10 were downregulated in the sera from cancer patients. Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) is highly upregulated in the ovarian cancer serum samples.

Cerebrospinal fluid biochemistry reflects effects of therapeutic hypothermia after cardiac arrest in a porcine model.

Background: Mild induced hypothermia (MIH) is recommended to treat neurologic injury after cardiac arrest (CA). However, clinical trials to assess MIH benefit after CA have been largely inconclusive. We investigated the subsequent changes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biochemistry after MIH (33°C-34°C for 12 hours) and evaluated the importance of ongoing fever control.

Effect of continuous compressions and 30:2 cardiopulmonary resuscitation on global ventilation/perfusion values during resuscitation in a porcine model.

Objective: Rescue ventilations during bystander resuscitation, although previously considered essential, interrupt the continuity of chest compressions and might have deleterious effects in basic life support. This study was undertaken to analyze the global ventilation/perfusion values of continuous compressions and 30:2 cardiopulmonary resuscitation to determine the effectiveness for each approach in a porcine model of prolonged bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation for ventricular fibrillation.

Design: Prospective, randomized animal study.
