Background: The optimal treatment strategy for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (rHCC) remains unclear. This study is based on cases of rHCC after liver resection, aiming to evaluate the influence of preoperative risk factors on the long-term prognosis of patients with rHCC by comparing patients who underwent salvage liver transplantation (SLT) with those who underwent repeat hepatectomy (RH).

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 401 consecutive patients with rHCC who underwent SLT or RH between March 2015 and December 2022.

Despite extensive studies conducted on the relationship between serum uric acid (UA) and bone mineral density (BMD), their association remains controversial. In this study, we investigated whether UA levels are independently associated with BMD in Chinese and American populations to elucidate their association. Herein, the data of 12,344 individuals (age > 20 years) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2005-2018) and those of 768 individuals from the inpatient medical records and physical examination center systems of the Tertiary Class A Hospital (2021-2023) from China were included.

Prognostic value of prognostic nutritional index in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated with endostar and concurrent chemoradiotherapy.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of the pre-treatment prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in patients with locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LANPC) treated with endostar combined with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (ECCRT).

Methods: Clinical data from 92 patients with LANPC who underwent ECCRT between May 2015 and December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. The PNI was calculated using peripheral blood samples taken 1 week before treatment.

Methods: Consecutive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who had improved mCRFs and underwent serial, clinically indicated CCTA examinations (time interval ≥ 12 months) at our center between July 2019 and July 2022 were screened.

Measurements And Main Results: We enrolled a total of 247 patients, with hypertension, diabetes, and psychosis being the top three comorbidities associated with HS. The incidence of HS was higher among males and older individuals.

In this paper, we investigated the interactions between ATL-I and Keratin 7 (KRT7), a CRC-specific marker, to determine the potential pathways by which ATL-I inhibits CRC development. The KRT7 expression level in CRC was predicted online using the GEPIA website and then validated.
