Oil bodies are dynamic organelles in plant seeds. Oil body-associated protein (OBAP) is involved in regulating the size and vitality of oil bodies in overwintering seeds, and affects lipid mobilization and stress resistance during seed germination. In this study, we cloned an oil body associated protein gene LcOBAP2B (Leymus chinensis oil body associated protein 2B).

Objective: To explore the molecular mechanism of Shenmai Injection (SMI) against doxorubicin (DOX) induced cardiomyocyte apoptosis.

Methods: A total of 40 specific pathogen-free (SPF) male Sprague Dawley (SD) male rats were divided into 5 groups based on the random number table, including the control group, the model group, miR-30a agomir group, SMI low-dose (SMI-L) group, and SMI high-dose (SMI-H) group, with 8 rats in each group. Except for the control group, the rats were injected weekly with DOX (2 mg/kg) in the tail vein for 4 weeks to induce myocardial injury, and were given different regimens of continuous intervention for 2 weeks.

December 2024

School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Binzhou Medical College Yantai 264003, China Institute of Basic Medicine, Xiyuan Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Beijing 100091, China.

This article explored the specific mechanism by which ginsenoside Rg_1 regulates cellular autophagy to attenuate hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R) injury in HL-1 cardiomyocytes through the microRNA155(miR-155)/neurogenic gene Notch homologous protein 1(Notch1)/hairy and enhancer of split 1(Hes1) pathway. An HL-1 cell model with H/R injury was constructed, and ginsenoside Rg_1 and/or Notch1 inhibitor DAPT and miR-155 mimics were used to treat cells. Cell counting kit(CCK)-8 was used to detect the relative viability of HL-1 cells with H/R injury.

This study aimed to investigate the potential mechanism and the compatibility significance of Tanyu Tongzhi Formula in treating atherosclerosis(AS) in mice based on the transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)/Smad2/3 signaling pathway. Eight C57BL/6J mice were as assigned to a normal control group and fed a regular diet, while 35 ApoE~(-/-) mice of the same strain were fed a high-fat diet for 8 weeks to establish an AS model. The model mice were randomly divided into a model group, a Tanyu Tongzhi group(18.

Extracellular AMP Inhibits Pollen Tube Growth in via Disrupted Calcium Gradient and Disorganized Microfilaments.

Plants (Basel)

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetics and Breeding, College of Biological Sciences and Technology, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing 100083, China.

Adenosine monophosphate (AMP) is a hydrolysis product of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP). In mammalian cells, extracellular AMP functions as a signaling molecule by binding to adenosine A1 receptors, thereby activating various intracellular signaling pathways. However, the role of extracellular AMP in plant cells remains largely unclear, and homologs of A1 receptors have not been identified.
