Micromachines (Basel)

August 2024

Mechanical Engineering College, Beihua University, Jilin 132022, China.

To enhance the performance of tubular microbubble generators, the Volume of Fluid (VOF) multiphase flow model in COMSOL Multiphysics was used to simulate the bubble fragmentation characteristics within a throttling hole microbubble generator. The effects of the inlet speed of the throttling hole pipe, the diameter of the throttling hole, and the length of the expansion section on bubble fragmentation performance were analyzed. The results indicated that an increase in the inlet speed of the throttling hole pipe gradually improved the bubble fragmentation performance.

November 2024

Key Laboratory of Wooden Materials Science and Engineering, Beihua University, 3999 East Binjiang Road, Fengman District, Jilin, 132013, China. Electronic address:

Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) is one of major antibiotic contaminants in current aqueous environment. In this paper, waste loofah and melamine were co-carbonized to prepare biochar-doped g-CN (CCN) by a one-pot method and then combined with CoPMoVO (CoPMoV) using a binder to obtain the novel polyoxometalates (POMs) photocatalytic composites (CCN/CoPMoV). The incorporation of CoPMoV dramatically reduced the photogenerated carrier recombination and led to a small band gap.

Carbon-metal metal-metal synergistic mechanism of ethylene electro-oxidation electrolysis of water on TMN sites in graphene.

Chem Sci

August 2024

Institute of Functional Material Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, National & Local United Engineering Laboratory for Power Batteries, Northeast Normal University Changchun 130024 China

Acetaldehyde (AA) and ethylene oxide (EO) are important fine chemicals, and are also substrates with wide applications for high-value chemical products. Direct electrocatalytic oxidation of ethylene to AA and EO can avoid the untoward effects from harmful byproducts and high energy emissions. The most central intermediate state is the co-adsorption and coupling of ethylene and active oxygen intermediates (*O) at the active site(s), which is restricted by two factors: the stability of the *O intermediate generated during the electrolysis of water on the active site at a certain applied potential and pH range; and the lower kinetic energy barriers of the oxidation process based on the thermo-migration barrier from the *O intermediate to produce AA/EO.

Antiplatelet agents, particularly P2Y receptor inhibitors, are critical medicines in the prevention and treatment of thrombotic diseases in the clinic. However, their long-term use introduces a significant risk of bleeding in patients with cardiovascular diseases. Whether the bleeding is caused by the drug itself or due to surgical procedures or trauma, the need to rapidly reverse the effects of antiplatelet agents in the circulation is essential; however, no such agents are currently available.

The Zn(II)Cys zinc cluster protein family comprises a subclass of zinc-finger proteins that serve as transcriptional regulators involved in a diverse array of fugal biological processes. However, the roles and mechanisms of the Zn(II)Cys transcription factors in mediating , a necrotrophic fungus that causes gray mold in over 1000 plant species, development and virulence remain obscure. Here, we demonstrate that a novel pathogenicity-associated factor (ungal ranscription factor containing the AL4 domain), identified from a virulence-attenuated mutant M20162 from a T-DNA insertion mutant library, plays an important role in oxalic acid (OA) secretion, carbon source absorption and cell wall integrity.
