In the present study, Ag@TiO nanoparticles (NPs) were successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Then the fabric (treated by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma and alkali desizing) was sprayed by solutions of polyurethane (PU) adhesive and as-prepared Ag@TiONPs in sequence for constructing a robust multi-level structure. Afterwards, the durable superhydrophilic and underwater superoleophobic coatings were obtained on the fabric surface.

Article Synopsis
  • Polypyrrole/silver nanoparticles (PPy/Ag NPs) were applied to spandex fabric via redox-oxidation polymerization, turning it from hydrophobic to superhydrophilic and superoleophobic.
  • The modified fabric effectively removed oil from oil-in-water emulsions and, after further treatment, became superhydrophobic and superlipophilic, enabling it to collect oil from water-in-oil emulsions.
  • The resulting multifunctional fabric demonstrated impressive durability, electrical conductivity, and antibacterial properties, enhancing its potential for applications in the textile industry.
