This study aimed to validate and assess the psychometric properties of the Chinese adaptation of the Strength-Based Parenting Questionnaire (SBPQ) for the first time. Background: Taurine and betaine are important nutrients in and have many important biological properties. To investigate the characteristics of taurine and betaine contents and identify SNPs associated with traits in the , we cloned the full-length cDNA of key genes in taurine and betaine (unpublished data) metabolism, determined taurine and betaine content and gene expression in different tissues and months of specimen collection, and developed SNPs in the gene coding region.

Results: We cloned the full-length cDNA of cysteine dioxygenase () and cysteine sulfite decarboxylase (), which are key genes involved in taurine metabolism in , and found that betaine and taurine contents and the expression of key genes were regulated by seawater salinity.

Unnatural chemically modified nucleotide sugars UDP-4-SH-GalNAc was synthesized for the first time from a previously reported Benzyl 2-Amino-glucoypranoside derivative, with a total yield of 18.6%. The study of heavy metal content in the sediments of the coastal zone of Qinzhou Harbour was used to analyse the level, distribution and sources of heavy metal pollution in the region and its hazards to the ecological environment and human health. The results showed that the average concentrations of Mn, Ni, Cr, Cu, and Pb exceeded background values along the shores of Qinzhou Harbour, Guangxi. Comprehensive assessments using Igeo, RI, and PLI identified Cu, Ni, and Pb as primary contaminants in the area, presenting slight to moderate ecological risks and biological toxic effects.
