Coagulation disorder is common among COVID-19 patients, particularly those afflicted with the severe form of the disease. Manifestations of thrombotic complications such as pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), ischemic stroke, cardiac infarction and arterial embolism is high in COVID-19 patients which have been assessed in various studies (5).It seems that COVID-19-related coagulopathy is a combination of low-grade DIC and pulmonary thrombotic microangiopathy which can have a significant effect on organ dysfunction in patients with severe COVID-19 (6).

Objective: Preclinical evidences suggests that while fasting can reduce the side effects and toxicity of chemotherapy, it can make cancer cells more susceptible to chemotherapy. This study aimed to examine the effects of fasting mimicking diet (FMD) during neo-adjuvant chemotherapy in breast cancer (BC) patients.
Methods: Forty-four newly diagnosed human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-negative) patients with BC were randomized equally into two groups (22 each), to receive either a fasting mimicking diet (FMD) or their regular diet for 3 days prior to and during neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Incorporating autologous patient-derived products has become imperative to enhance the continually improving outcomes in bone tissue engineering. With this objective in mind, this study aimed to evaluate the osteogenic potential of 3D-printed allograft-alginate-gelatin scaffolds coated with stromal vascular fraction (SVF) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF). The primary goal was to develop a tissue-engineered construct capable of facilitating efficient bone regeneration through the utilization of biomaterials with advantageous properties and patient-derived products.

Background: Gout is one of the oldest known diseases and the most common form of inflammatory arthritis. The established risk factors for gout include hyperuricemia, chronic renal disease, genetic, alcohol consumption, dietary factors, diuretic use, hypertension, obesity, and metabolic syndrome. Patients with gout have an increased risk of all-cause mortality, particularly from cardiovascular disease, cancer, and infectious diseases.

The long non-coding RNA HOTAIR is overexpressed in many cancers and is associated with several cancer-promoting effects, including increased cell proliferation, migration and treatment resistance. HOTAIR levels correlate with tumor stage, lymph node metastasis and overall survival in patients with various types of cancer. This highlights the potential uses of HOTAIR, including early cancer detection, predicting patient outcome, identifying high-risk individuals and assisting in therapy selection and monitoring.

Foreign body aspiration (FBA) is a common issue in children, particularly boys, and can be life-threatening. Early removal of the foreign body (FB) leads to recovery, but delayed diagnosis may cause complications such as granuloma, recurrent pneumonia, and atelectasis. This condition often results from a child's curiosity, with factors such as inadequate swallowing reflex and activity during eating contributing to the risk.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) poses a significant public health challenge, particularly because it can exist in an asymptomatic latent phase. Latent TB infection indicates the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis without clinical symptoms. Effectively distinguishing between active and latent TB is essential, especially in regions with high TB prevalence, as it may help reduce transmission rates.

This review examines the impact of F420 biosynthesis protein C (fbiC) mutations in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and their influence on the bacterium's dormancy mechanisms. The potential role of fbiC mutations and functional impairments in the persistence of Mtb is emphasized. Tuberculosis (TB) bacilli can enter a dormant state with minimal metabolic activity, allowing them to conserve resources and survive in low-nutrient, low-oxygen environments for extended periods.

Periodontitis (PD) is a chronic gum illness that may be hard to cure for a number of reasons, including the fact that no one knows what causes it, the side effects of anti-microbial treatment, and how various kinds of bacteria interact with one another. As a result, novel therapeutic approaches for PD treatment must be developed. Additionally, supplementary antibacterial regimens, including local and systemic medication administration of chemical agents, are necessary for deep pockets to assist with mechanical debridement of tooth surfaces.
