Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccinations (initial and booster) during pre-Delta, Delta, and Omicron dominant periods among pregnant people via (1) COVID-19 incident and severe infections among pregnant people who were vaccinated vs. unvaccinated and (2) post-COVID-19 vaccination breakthrough infections and severe infections among vaccinated females who were pregnant vs. non-pregnant.

Transformation of a Benign-Appearing Fibroepithelial Lesion to a Giant Malignant Phyllodes Tumor of the Breast.

This is a case of a woman who presented with a left breast mass that was initially diagnosed as fibroadenoma on core biopsy and, after three years without any surgical intervention, was found to be a malignant phyllodes tumor. Initially, a core needle biopsy of the mass showed probable fibroadenoma. Because of the initial benign seeming diagnosis and the need to treat her tongue cancer, the patient did not recognize the need for a recommended surgical consultation and excision.

After ileostomy surgery, patients require nutrition and hydration modifications to maintain electrolyte balances and prevent postoperative complications. In addition to becoming dehydrated, patients who have ileostomies can develop obstructions if care isn't taken to avoid certain kinds of foods. Introduction And Hypothesis: The failure of the levator hiatus (LH) and urogenital hiatus (UGH) to remain closed is not only associated with pelvic floor disorders, but also contributes to recurrence after surgical repair. Pregnancy and vaginal birth are key events affecting this closure. An understanding of normal and failed hiatal closure is necessary to understand, manage, and prevent pelvic floor disorders.

The Professional Doctorate in Medical Physics (DMP) was originally conceived as a solution to the shortage of medical physics residency training positions. While this shortage has now been largely satisfied through conventional residency training positions, the DMP has expanded to multiple institutions and grown into an educational pathway that provides specialized clinical training and extends well beyond the creation of additional training spots. As such, it is important to reevaluate the purpose and the value of the DMP.

Methods: This was a target trial using observational data from patients hospitalized for COVID-19 at 39 hospitals participating in the MI-COVID19 registry between March 16, 2020 and August 24, 2020.

How the COVID-19 Pandemic Has Affected Cardiology Fellow Training.

With the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, resources have been reallocated and elective cases have been deferred to minimize the spread of the disease, altering the workflow of cardiac catheterization laboratories across the country. This has in turn affected the training experience of cardiology fellows, including diminished procedure numbers and a narrow breadth of cases as they approach the end of their training before joining independent practice. It has also taken a toll on the emotional well-being of fellows as they see their colleagues, loved ones, patients or even themselves struggling with COVID-19, with some succumbing to it.
