Background: Clinically relevant postpancreatectomy hemorrhage occurs in 10% to 15% of patients after pancreaticoduodenectomy, mainly in association with clinically relevant postoperative pancreatic fistula. Prevention of postpancreatectomy hemorrhage by arterial coverage with a round ligament plasty or an omental flap is controversial. This study assessed the impact of arterial coverage with an original retromesenteric omental flap on postpancreatectomy hemorrhage after pancreaticoduodenectomy.

Unlabelled: Facing with an increasing demand for transition to adult care management, our home parenteral nutrition (HPN) team designed an adolescent therapeutic educational program (ATEP) specifically intended for adolescents on long-term HPN. The aim of this study was to report on the first sessions of this program.
Methods: The ATEP is designed in three sessions of five consecutive days, during school holidays over the year.

Primary segmental omental torsion (PSOT) is a very rare cause of acute abdominal pain, and it may often imitate the clinical picture of acute appendicitis. In instances of acute abdominal pain without anorexia, nausea, and vomiting, omental torsion should be included in the differential diagnosis. Any misdiagnosis may lead to major complications such as intraabdominal abscesses and adhesions.

Background: Von Hippel-Lindau disease (VHL) is a rare autosomal dominant hereditary cancer-predisposition syndrome caused by germline pathogenic variants (PV) in VHL gene. It is associated with a high penetrance of benign and malignant vascular tumors in multiples organs, including pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs), whose long-term natural history is ill-known.
Methods: Patients with both documented germline PV in VHL gene and PanNETs included in the French PREDIR database between 1995 and 2022 were included.

Background & Aims: Major bleeding events during orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) are associated with poor outcomes. The proportion of this risk related to portal hypertension is unclear. Hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) is the gold standard for estimating portal hypertension.

Background: Anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion achieves foraminal radicular and central medullary decompression and spinal stabilization in staged lesions. Many bone graft materials have been developed for the reconstruction of cervical lordosis and the restoration of intervertebral height after corpectomy. The PolyEtherKetoneEtherKetoneKetone (PEKEKK) is a semicrystalline thermoplastic polymer that can be reinforced with carbon fibers to create long and highly fenestrated rectangular cervical cages for corpectomy.

Objective: Pharmacological prevention of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) after pancreatectomy is open to debate. The present study compares clinically significant POPF rates in patients randomized between somatostatin versus octreotide as prophylactic treatment.
Methods: Multicentric randomized controlled open study in patient's candidate for pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) or distal pancreatectomy (DP) comparing somatostatin continuous intravenous infusion for 7 days versus octreotid 100 μg, every 8 hours subcutaneous injection for 7 days, stratified by procedure (PD vs DP) and size of the main pancreatic duct (>4 mm) on grade B/C POPF rates at 90 days based on an intention-to-treat analysis.

Genetic testing is performed for unexplained pancreatitis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of repeating genetic testing in idiopathic pancreatitis when new predisposing genes are identified. We investigated 330 patients who were initially screened for PRSS1, SPINK1 and CFTR genes.

Background: We sought to investigate whether minimally invasive hepatectomy (MIH) was superior to open hepatectomy (OH) in terms of achieving textbook outcome in liver surgery (TOLS) after resection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Methods: Patients who underwent resection of HCC between 2000 and 2020 were identified from an international database. TOLS was defined by the absence of intraoperative grade ≥2 events, R1 resection margin, posthepatectomy liver failure, bile leakage, major complications, in-hospital mortality, and readmission.

Introduction: We aim to assess the long-term outcomes of percutaneous multi-bipolar radiofrequency (mbpRFA) as the first treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in transplant-eligible cirrhotic patients, followed by salvage transplantation for intrahepatic distant tumour recurrence or liver failure.
Materials And Methods: We included transplant-eligible patients with cirrhosis and a first diagnosis of HCC within Milan criteria treated by upfront mbp RFA. Transplantability was defined by age <70 years, social support, absence of significant comorbidities, no active alcohol use and no recent extrahepatic cancer.

Background: The value of splenectomy for body localization (≥ 5 cm from spleen hilum) of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (B-PDAC) is uncertain. This study assessed spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy (SPDP) results for B-PDAC.

Introduction: Although up to 50-70% of patients with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) recur following resection, data to predict post-recurrence survival (PRS) and guide treatment of recurrence are limited.
Methods: Patients who underwent resection of ICC between 2000 and 2020 were identified from an international, multi-institutional database. Data on primary disease as well as laboratory and radiologic data on recurrent disease were collected.
