Purpose: The aim of this study was to describe the results of an arthroscopic Trillat procedure utilized to treat patients with symptomatic antero-inferior shoulder instability associated with hyperlaxity.
Methods: A retrospective review was performed on 19 consecutive shoulders (17 patients, 2 bilateral) who underwent a Trillat procedure combined with anterio-inferior capsulolabral plasty from 2016 to 2019. Patients included in the study presented with shoulder instability combined with shoulder hyperlaxity and no glenoid or humeral bone loss.

Objectives: Bone metastases (BM) may influence negatively the prognosis of midgut neuroendocrine tumors (NET). The diagnostic sensitivity of F-DOPA PET for midgut NET and associated metastases is high. This study aimed to assess the prognostic impact of BM detected by F-DOPA PET in metastatic midgut NET.

Sofosbuvir plus daclatasvir with or without ribavirin has demonstrated a high efficacy and an acceptable safety profile in clinical trials of patients infected with genotype 2 hepatitis Cvirus (HCV); however, there are currently no real-world data available for this regimen. To evaluate the real-life safety and efficacy of sofosbuvir/daclatasvir with or without ribavirin in genotype 2 HCV patients in the French cohort ANRS CO22 HEPATHER(NCT01953458). In this ongoing, national, multicentre, prospective, observational study, we observed patients with HCV genotype 2 infection who initiated treatment with sofosbuvir (400 mg/d) plus daclatasvir with or without ribavirin (1-1.

Background: The correct histopathological diagnosis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NENs) is crucial for treatment selection and prognostication. It is also very challenging due to limited experience in nonexpert centers. Revision of pathology is standard of care for most patients who are referred to NEN expert centers.

Methods: We included patients who underwent surgical resection of nonmetastatic well-differentiated PanNET. Exacerbation of DM was defined as the postoperative occurrence of DM or worsening of preexisting DM.

Background: The use of absorbable meshes during contaminated or infected incisional hernia (IH) repair is associated with high morbidity and recurrence rates. Biological meshes might be more appropriate but have been described in highly heterogeneous series. This study aimed at comparing the efficacy of absorbable vs.

Surgical laparoscopic procedures in the retroperitoneal and supramesocolic spaces are increasingly frequent. There is a high risk of iatrogenic intraoperative injury of the retroperitoneal lymphatic structures during these procedures. A precise understanding of the anatomy of the thoracic duct (TD) and the cisterna chyli (CC) is essential for safe surgical procedures in this area.

The management of patients with well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (NET) and non-resectable liver metastases is challenging. Liver-directed transarterial embolization (TAE), transarterial chemo-embolization (TACE) and selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT) have a place of choice among other treatment modalities. However, their utilization relies on a low level of proof, due to the lack of prospective data, the absence of comparative studies and considerable heterogeneity between local practices.

Background: Limited pancreatic resections are increasingly performed, but the rate of postoperative fistula is higher than after classical resections. Pancreatic segmentation, anatomically and radiologically identifiable, may theoretically help the surgeon removing selected anatomical portions with their own segmental pancreatic duct and thus might decrease the postoperative fistula rate. We aimed at systematically and comprehensively reviewing the previously proposed pancreatic segmentations and discuss their relevance and limitations.

Aim: Combined resection of colorectal cancer with surgery for synchronous liver metastases (LM) still remains controversial because of the possible higher morbidity rate, the necessity of an adequate abdominal approach for both resections and the impact on oncological results. However, laparoscopy may be beneficial in terms of operative results and could facilitate this combined procedure. The aim was to assess the benefit of the laparoscopic approach for colorectal cancer resection in patients undergoing simultaneous liver resection for synchronous LM.

Aim: T4 colorectal cancer remains a contraindication for laparoscopy. It is argued that the risk of incomplete resection could be higher than in open surgery. Furthermore, difficulty in dissection could lead to a very high rate of conversion.

Background: Redo surgery (RS) in patients with failed anastomosis is a rare procedure, and data about this surgery are lacking. The aim of this study was to examine the operative results and long-term outcomes of RS.
Methods: All patients who underwent RS between 1999 and 2008 were included.

Background: Laparoscopy is a valuable approach to primary ileocecal resection for ileocolonic Crohn's disease (CD). This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of using laparoscopy for reoperation in the case of ileocolonic CD recurrence and to determine the risk factors and consequences of conversion for these patients.
Methods: From 1998 to 2008, 57 patients underwent 62 reoperations for CD recurrence.

Background: Ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA) is the recommended procedure for ulcerative colitis and profuse familial adenomatous polyposis. The aims of this study were to report a consecutive series of 82 unselected patients who undergone a total laparoscopic IPAA with a special focus on the postoperative morbidity and 1-year functional results.
Methods: Between 2002 and 2008, 82 consecutive patients undergoing IPAA under a total laparoscopic approach were enrolled.

Background: To compare the results of a total laparoscopic versus open approach 3-time ileal pouch anal anastomosis (IPAA) for patients with acute or severe colitis complicating inflammatory bowel disease.
Methods: Consecutive subtotal colectomy was followed by IPAA then by stoma closure. Between 2000 and 2006, 23 consecutive patients, operated through a total laparoscopic approach were well matched with 22 patients operated by open approach.

Background: Resection remains the gold standard in the treatment of liver tumors. But radiofrequency ablation allows destruction of small liver tumors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of surface application of a saline-linked dissecting sealer (TL) on the tumor bed that might contain residual microscopic tumor cells after resection (in situ margin).
