Objective: To evaluate outcomes in opioid exposed neonates (OENs) assessed by the Eat, Sleep, Console (ESC) tool compared to the Finnegan Neonatal Abstinence Scoring System (FNASS).
Methods: Retrospective analysis of a statewide database of OENs from 2017 to 2020 with birthing hospitals classified based on the assessment tool used. Four main outcomes were examined using multivariable and Poisson logistic regression models.

Methadone's long half-life typically allows for once daily dosing. However, a growing body of evidence and clinical experience shows that some patients may benefit from twice-daily ("split") dosing to produce more stable symptoms and minimize side effects, independent of serum peak-to-trough levels. Concerns regarding split dosing typically center on diversion and poor adherence and must be taken seriously.

Myofascial pelvic pain is a common, nonarticular musculoskeletal disorder characterized by the presence of myofascial trigger points in the lower abdominal wall and/or pelvic floor muscles. Myofascial pelvic pain is involved in an estimated 22% to 94% of cases of chronic pelvic pain, which is one of the most common gynecologic conditions in the United States. Myofascial pelvic pain may exist independently or in conjunction with disorders such as vaginismus, dysmenorrhea, and endometriosis and is frequently a causative factor in sexual pain or dyspareunia.

In rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus, cardiovascular disease is frequently one of the leading causes of mortality or morbidity. Studies have shown that acute systemic inflammation and chronic systemic vasculitis are associated with endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerotic plaque formation, subsequently leading to cardiovascular disease. This meta-analysis aimed to explore the association of subclinical atherosclerosis and arterial stiffness in primary Sjogren's syndrome.

Objectives: Acute systemic inflammation and chronic systemic vasculitis are associated with endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerotic plaque formation. Studies on cardiovascular or cerebrovascular events in primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) are limited, with conflicting results. This meta-analysis aimed to explore the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease in pSS.

Chronic inflammation from autoimmune diseases has shown to be a risk factor for atherosclerosis, subsequently leading to cardiovascular disease. Endothelial dysfunction is the early pathogenesis of atherosclerosis in chronic inflammation, but the risk of atherosclerosis in sarcoidosis is less well defined. This meta-analysis aimed to explore the association of subclinical atherosclerosis and arterial stiffness in sarcoidosis.

Purpose: To examine the association between body mass index (BMI) and in-hospital mortality in patients presenting with Clostridium difficile infections in emergency department visits (ED) in the USA. Infected patients with extreme BMIs may have an elevated mortality risk, but prior studies examining this question have been too small to reach definitive conclusions.
Methods: Data were from the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS), Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP), Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality during 2012.

Purpose: This study compared the performance of 3 admission prognostic scores in predicting hospital mortality.
Materials And Methods: Patient admission characteristics and hospital outcome of 9549 patients were recorded prospectively. The discrimination and calibration of the predicted risks of death derived from the Simplified Acute Physiology Score (SAPS III), Admission Mortality Prediction Model (MPM0 III), and admission Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II were assessed by the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and a calibration plot, respectively.

Adenolipoma of the skin is a rare variant of lipoma not yet reported to involve the external female genitalia. We report, for the first time, 2 cases of adenolipoma arising in or immediately adjacent to the vulva in women aged 41 and 44 years. They are characterized by sparse mammaglobin immunoreactive eccrine sweat glands embedded within lobules of mature adipose tissue.
