Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with excessive cardiovascular mortality. Recently, some studies have shown endothelial dysfunction in RA patients with high inflammatory activity. In addition, it has been suggested that the chronic inflammatory state of RA contributes to accelerated atherosclerosis.
