Resveratrol (Res) is known for its potential in treating various types of cancers, with a particular advantage of causing minimal toxic side effects. However, its clinical application is constrained by challenges such as poor bioavailability, low water solubility, and chemical instability in neutral and alkaline environments. In light of these limitations, we have developed a pH-responsive drug delivery nanoplatform, Res@ZIF-8/TA NPs, which exhibits good biocompatibility and shows promise for in vitro cancer therapy.

Background: To evaluate the efficacy, safety, technical feasibility, and effect of reducing the incidence of reflux gastritis from uncut Roux-en-Y (URY) reconstruction after radical distal gastrectomy (RDG) for gastric cancer.

Methods: A literature search was conducted in PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, and WanFang databases until June 30, 2020, to identify studies comparing URY reconstruction with other gastrointestinal tract reconstruction methods after RDG. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) and the Cochrane Collaboration's risk for bias assessment tool were used to assess the risk of bias.

Background: Pancreatic cancer (PC) has much weaker prognosis, which can be divided into diabetes and non-diabetes. PC patients with diabetes mellitus will have more opportunities for physical examination due to diabetes, while pancreatic cancer patients without diabetes tend to have higher risk. Identification of prognostic markers for diabetic and non-diabetic pancreatic cancer can improve the prognosis of patients with both types of pancreatic cancer.

School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona, United States of America.

Non-coding RNAs are fundamental to the competing endogenous RNA (CeRNA) hypothesis in oncology. Previous work focused on static CeRNA networks. We construct and analyze CeRNA networks for four sequential stages of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) based on multi-omics data of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), microRNAs and mRNAs.

Electronic address:

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignant primary liver cancer with poor prognosis. Most previous studies on anti-HCC effects of traditional Chinese medicines (TCM) have focused on the mechanism of direct action and few researchers considered that TCM can inhibit tumor progression and improve prognosis of HCC patients through regulating tumor microenvironment (TME). In this study, network pharmacology combined bioinformatics methods were employed to analysis mechanism of Bombyx batryticatus (B.

Different analytical methods or models can often find completely different prognostic biomarkers for the same cancer. In the study of prognostic molecular biomarkers of ovarian cancer (OvCa), different studies have reported a variety of prognostic gene signatures. In the current study, based on geometric concepts, the linearity-clustering phase diagram with integrated P-value (LCP) method was used to comprehensively consider three indicators that are commonly employed to estimate the quality of a prognostic gene signature model.

A network approach to quantifying radiotherapy effect on cancer: Radiosensitive gene group centrality.

J Theor Biol

February 2019

School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ 85287, USA; Department of Physics, Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ 85287, USA.

Radiotherapy plays a vital role in cancer treatment, for which accurate prognosis is important for guiding sequential treatment and improving the curative effect for patients. An issue of great significance in radiotherapy is to assess tumor radiosensitivity for devising the optimal treatment strategy. Previous studies focused on gene expression in cells closely associated with radiosensitivity, but factors such as the response of a cancer patient to irradiation and the patient survival time are largely ignored.

Background: Chinese traditional herbal medicine Fuzhengkangai (FZKA) formulation combination with gefitinib can overcome drug resistance and improve the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma patients. However, the pharmacological and molecular mechanisms underlying the active ingredients, potential targets, and overcome drug resistance of the drug are still unclear. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the molecular mechanism of FZKA.

Laparoscopic vs. open Nissen's fundoplication for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease in children: A meta-analysis.

Int J Surg

October 2016

Department of General Surgery, The Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha, 410000, China. Electronic address:

Background And Objective: Available evidence showed inconsistent results between laparoscopic Nissen's fundoplication (LNF) and open Nissen's fundoplication (ONF) for children with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), so this study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety between LNF and ONF.

Methods: Systematic, comprehensive literature searches were conducted to include randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared LNF and ONF for GERD. Two reviewers independently selected studies, abstracted data and assessed the methodological quality and evidence level.

Radiotherapy is widely used in breast cancer treatment. The radiotherapy for breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA) presents challenges with the complex clinical factors, and too many genes have been found to be associated with BRCA radiotherapy prognosis. The aim of this study was to construct an integrative model to combine the clinical data and RNA expression data (including microRNA and mRNA) to predict the survival durations of BRCA patients with radiotherapy.
