Injecting botulinum toxin under simple topical anesthesia using a eutectic mixture of lignocaine and prilocaine is a painful procedure. A simple hyper-occlusive modification in the existing technique of topical anesthesia of palms facilitates painless injections leading to greater patient satisfaction and compliance.

Background: Hair restoration surgery is a definitive surgical procedure undertaken for androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy has gained importance in recent times as a valuable adjunct to therapy in hair restoration. However, the various beneficial effects of PRP as intraoperative holding solution hair restoration surgery remain to be objectively defined.

A comparative study of efficacy of split-thickness skin grafting versus autologous melanocyte transfer in the management of stable vitiligo.

Background: Vitiligo is a depigmenting skin disorder resulting from the loss of melanocytes in the epidermis. Surgical treatment is indicated in resistant stable vitiligo that does not show adequate response to medical therapy. This study aims at comparing the efficacy of repigmentation by split-thickness skin grafting (STSG) versus autologous non-cultured melanocyte transfer (AMT) in the management of stable vitiligo.

Hair transplantation by follicular unit extraction for male androgenetic alopecia: A retrospective observational study from two centers.

Background: Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is the most popular method of hair transplantation in today's world. Hair transplantation in androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in males can restore the frontal hairline and provide hair density in alopecic areas to the satisfaction of most patients.

Methods: Consecutive male patients of AGA who underwent hair transplantation by FUE method in two centers between the period of January 2016 and June 2017 have been included in this study based on inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Estimating global injuries morbidity and mortality: methods and data used in the Global Burden of Disease 2017 study.

Background: While there is a long history of measuring death and disability from injuries, modern research methods must account for the wide spectrum of disability that can occur in an injury, and must provide estimates with sufficient demographic, geographical and temporal detail to be useful for policy makers. The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2017 study used methods to provide highly detailed estimates of global injury burden that meet these criteria.

Methods: In this study, we report and discuss the methods used in GBD 2017 for injury morbidity and mortality burden estimation.

TENSOR FASCIA LATA/GLUTEUS MEDIUS MUSCLE PEDICLE BONE GRAFT FOR NON-UNION OF FEMORAL NECK FRACTURES.

Twelve male patients with non-union of fracture neck femur of 6-12 months duration were managed by open reduction and internal fixation and tensor fascia lata or gluteus medius muscle pedicle bone grafting through the anterior route. Internal fixation was done with Knowles pins and Asinis screws or combination of both. Union could be achieved in 11 out of the 12 cases.
