In this study, Taguchi experimental design was used to the optimize operating parameters for the degradation of paper mill effluent using electrochemical (EC) process with two-dimensional concentric aluminum tube electrodes (CATE). For this purpose, four significant experimental factors were used in four levels pH (6-9), electrolysis time (10-40 min), voltage (6-12 V) and surface area (357-624 cm). The process parameters were optimized, through performing L16 orthogonal array of Taguchi technique, for the removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and turbidity.

Face recognition is a well-researched domain however many issues for instance expression changes, illumination variations, and presence of occlusion in the face images seriously affect the performance of such systems. A recent survey shows that COVID-19 will also have a considerable and long-term impact on biometric face recognition systems. The work has presented two novel Savitzky-Golay differentiator (SGD) and gradient-based Savitzky-Golay differentiator (GSGD) feature extraction techniques to elevate issues related to face recognition systems.

Polymer gears pose major advantages, like noiseless operation, resistive against corrosion, low weight, ability to damp vibrations, ease of manufacturability, and ability to operate without lubrication like in printers, household appliances, etc. In order to enhance mechanical properties of gear materials, various reinforcing materials are added such as glass and carbon fibers. The orientation of these fibers and distribution are critical parameters at the microstructural level for polymer reinforced with short fibers, which defines the strength and life of gears.
