Material And Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups: control, chronic constriction injury (CCI), and CCI + tramadol. Neuropathic pain was assessed using mechanical allodynia, thermal hyperalgesia, and cold allodynia.

Investigation of Novel Radiological Parameters to Predict Treatment Failure and Ideal Surgical Interventions in Young Femoral Neck Fractures Treated with Triple Cannulated Screw: A Retrospective Analysis.

Introduction: Treatment failure remains a challenge in young femoral neck fractures treated with triple cannulated screws (TCS). This study aims to identify novel radiological parameters that can predict treatment failure and propose surgical techniques to enhance the success of TCS or aid in selecting alternative methods.

Patients And Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 87 patients who underwent surgery for femoral neck fractures between February 2014 and June 2022, meeting the inclusion criteria.

The Performance of the Current Algorithm of HIV Diagnosis.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the performance of the current algorithm the HIV diagnosis that has been performed for four years. Results of HIV Ag/Ab tests, anti-HIV 1/2 confirmatory tests, HIV-1 RNA tests and the time for official results to be approved were evaluated.

Methods: The relationship of HIV Ag/Ab tests, anti-HIV 1/2 confirmation tests and HIV-1 RNA PCR tests, their result times and suitability to the algorithm were examined at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University between May 2017 and June 2021.

The Predictive Utility of Circulating PCSK9 Levels on Diabetic Retinopathy Stage.

Purpose: To investigate the value of proprotein-converting subtilisin kexin type 9 (PCSK9) levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) patients with different stages of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and to compare these findings with a healthy control group without diabetes mellitus (DM).

Methods: A total of 135 patients, 100 of whom were patients with T2D and 35 of whom were in the health control group, were included in this prospective study. T2D patients were divided into three groups: the first group included 34 people with T2D without DR, the second group had 32 people with non-proliferative DR (NPDR), and the third group had 34 people with proliferative DR (PDR).

Evaluation of the effect of atorvastatin on corneal endothelial cells during the initial 12-month period after acute coronary syndrome.

Purpose: It was aimed to compare corneal endothelial changes during the initial 12-month period in which patients started using atorvastatin after a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome (ACS).

Methods: Forty-six participants (group 1) who underwent cardiac angioplasty and stenting for ACS and started using 80 mg atorvastatin in the early period were included in the study. In the study, a control group comprising 71 healthy adults (group 2) was included.

Background: The role of speckle tracking in the assessment of right atrial (RA) deformation parameters has not been investigated yet. The purpose of this article is to establish the effects of normal pregnancy on RA mechanical changes obtained by 2-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography.

Methodology: A total of 49 healthy pregnant women were included in the study.

Effects of Internal Iliac Artery Ligation on Stress and Urge Incontinence: A Retrospective Evaluation.

Introduction: Does bilateral internal iliac artery ligation (BIIAL), a fundamental intervention in the treatment of postpartum hemorrhage, increase the risk of urinary incontinence (UI)? This study aims to shed light on the effects of BIIAL on bladder perfusion and urinary system integrity, thereby elucidating urinary function disorders following pelvic surgery.

Methods: Demographic and medical data were collected from a total of 192 female patients, with and without the application of BIIAL. Urinary incontinence conditions were assessed using the Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID) test.

Objectives: To uncover the predictive value of systemic immune-inflammatory index (SII) and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) on early pregnancy loss.

Methods: A total of 535 individuals were enrolled in this retrospective analysis. The early pregnancy losses (EPL) group included patients between 18-35 years old who experienced EPL.

Objectives: Measles cases are increasing remarkably in our country as well as all over the world. In this study, it was aimed to examine the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of measles cases detected in our hospital, as well as the measles seroprevalence in our region.

Methods: A total of 7,452 individuals whose measles IgG and/or IgM antibodies were studied between December 2021 and March 2023 in the Medical Virology Laboratory in Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital were included in this retrospective study.

A novel variant of the gene: nonclassical presentation from Turkey.

Objectives: Lipoid congenital adrenal hyperplasia (LCAH) is a rare autosomal recessive disease caused by mutations in the steroidogenic acute regulatory protein () gene, expressed in the adrenal and gonadal tissues. In classical LCAH, individuals with 46, XY chromosomes present with a female appearance of the external genitalia due to insufficient androgen production. In the non-classical form, a milder phenotype is observed with male external genitalia.

Investigation of the Effect of Antiseizure Medications on Cognition in Patients With Epilepsy.

The effect of antiseizure medications (ASMs) on cognition varies depending on the type of ASM. We aimed to investigate the effects of ASMs on patients with epilepsy based on the conflicting findings in the literature. Patients diagnosed with epilepsy who were taking ASMs were included.

Effectiveness of a Sellar Reconstruction Algorithm in Transsphenoidal Pituitary Surgery: Insights from 490 Cases.

Background: Rhinorrhea is a common complication after endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal pituitary surgery (EETPS). This study evaluates the effectiveness of our sellar reconstruction technique in preventing rhinorrhea.

Methods: From June 2020 to March 2024, a surgical team performed 490 EETPS procedures on 458 pituitary adenoma patients.

Corneal endothelial density loss in patients after gonioscopy‑assisted transluminal trabeculotomy.

Purpose: To compare short-term changes in corneal endothelial cells after gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy(GATT).

Methods: This retrospective comparative study included 138 patients(138 eyes), and 98 of these patients underwent GATT procedure and 40 underwent SLT procedure as a control group. Changes in the corneal endothelium in patients who underwent GATT and SLT were analyzed retrospectively.

Diagnostic value of systemic immune inflammation index in acute appendicitis and complicated appendicitis in pregnant patients.

Introduction: Acute pain in the right lower quadrant during pregnancy is difficult to approach and acute appendicitis must be excluded. The complication rate in pregnant acute appendicitis increases as a result of delayed diagnosis due to physiological and anatomic changes. The systemic immune inflammatory index (SII), which includes several inflammatory tests, is considered to be a good indicator of acute inflammation.

Choroid Plexus Papilloma Tumor of the Ovary: A Case Report.

This is a case report of a 19-year-old nulligravid patient with a choroid plexus papilloma tumor in a mature cystic teratoma in the right adnexal area. The patient, who had abdominal pain and dyspepsia, showed a 9 cm diameter mass with a solid/cystic component, initially interpreted as a dermoid cyst in the right adnexal region. Mature cystic teratoma is a benign germ cell tumor and is common in women during the reproductive period.

Prediction of Major Adverse Cardiac Events After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: A Machine Learning Approach with GRACE Score.

Objectives: Predictive risk scores have a significant impact on patient selection and assessing the likelihood of complications following interventions in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS). This study aims to explore the utility of machine learning (ML) techniques in predicting 30-day major adverse cardiac events (MACE) by analyzing parameters, including the Global Registry of Acute Coronary Events (GRACE) score.

Methods: This retrospective, multi-center, observational study enrolled 453 consecutive patients diagnosed with severe AS who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) from April 2020 to January 2023.

Redo Tricuspid and Pulmonary Valve Replacement with On-X in Renal Transplant Patient: A Case Report.

Surgical treatment is recommended in patients with symptomatic severe tricuspid regurgitation and pulmonary regurgitation. Although renal transplant patients are a high-risk patient group for cardiac surgery, heart valve surgeries can be performed successfully. There are a limited number of studies published on this subject in the literature.

Inflammation Burden and Atrial Fibrillation Burden: A Bidirectional Relationship.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) burden is defined as the proportion of time the patient remains in AF over a given period of time; thus, it is theoretically highest in permanent AF and lowest in paroxysmal AF. Inflammation is associated with the initiation and maintenance of AF. However, the relationship between systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and AF burden is unknown.
