Background: The optimal treatment of 3- and 4-part proximal humeral fractures in older adults remains controversial. This aim of this study was compare patient reported outcomes following reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) or non-operative management in patients over 60 years old.
Methods: A retrospective review was undertaken of patients following 3- or 4-part proximal humeral fractures treated with RSA or non-operative treatment with minimum 2-year follow-up.

This study aimed to present a retrospective case series of the long-term results of severe hallux valgus treated with triple osteotomy of the first ray. Patients with severe hallux valgus treated with a basal medial opening wedge, distal chevron, and Akin osteotomy from 2008 to 2012 were identified from the electronic medical records. Radiological outcomes such as pre- and postoperative hallux valgus angle, intermetatarsal angle, and distal metatarsal articular angle) were collected.

Introduction: Identification of skin cancer by an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Digital Health Technology could help improve the triage and management of suspicious skin lesions.
Methods: The DERM-003 study (NCT04116983) was a prospective, multi-center, single-arm, masked study that aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of an AI as a Medical Device (AIaMD) to identify Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC), pre-malignant and benign lesions from dermoscopic images of suspicious skin lesions. Suspicious skin lesions that were suitable for photography were photographed with 3 smartphone cameras (iPhone 6S, iPhone 11, Samsung 10) with a DL1 dermoscopic lens attachment.

Seronegative villous atrophy (SNVA) is a diagnostic challenge for gastroenterologists, which is defined by villous atrophy and negative coeliac serology. Non-coeliac forms of SNVA, such as autoimmune enteropathy, can be life-threatening leading to intractable diarrhoea and severe malabsorption that require systemic immunosuppression. When all known causes have been excluded, it is termed idiopathic villous atrophy (IVA).

Background: Latarjet has become an increasingly popular treatment option for recurrent anterior shoulder instability. With the reported complication rates for primary Latarjet surgery, there are concerns about the complications of Latarjet as a revision surgery. It remains unclear if poor results after previous surgical management can be improved with revision Latarjet as well as with primary Latarjet.

Background: Biomechanical studies have shown that translation of the proximal radius relative to the capitellum in the sagittal plane can predict integrity of the collateral ligaments in a transolecranon fracture model; no studies have examined this in clinical practice.
Methods And Materials: Nineteen consecutive transolecranon fracture dislocations were retrospectively reviewed. Data collection included patient demographics, fracture classifications, surgical management, and failure with instability.

Objective: Stable and accurate positioning of condyle in the glenoid fossa is necessary for maintaining occlusion, facial symmetry and normal function of the temporomandibular joint following segmental resection of mandible. In non-reconstructed mandibular segments or those with fractured reconstruction plates the bony defect gets altered due to contraction or inadvertent muscular pull. This paper describes various techniques used to control dentate and edentate segments of the mandible during reconstruction following an ablative procedure.

Background: Non-union in non-operatively managed humeral shaft fractures are associated with significant morbidity. Hence, developing a robust system that could help with early diagnosis is important. We aimed to evaluate the validity of the Radiographic Union Score for HUmeral fractures (RUSHU) at 6 weeks (RUSHU-6) and test whether a RUSHU at 12 weeks (RUSHU-12) would be a better predictor of non-union.

Objective: Assess the potential of hospital-wide routine screening by determining the prevalence and incidence of carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPOs) isolated from rectal screens at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals.
Methods: 3,553 samples were collected between 01/12/2018 and 31/08/2019: from adult critical care wards (universal screening - admission, discharge and weekly), from medical wards with risk-factor based screening according to the prevailing Public Health England (PHE) carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) screening guidelines, or on an ad hoc basis. Prevalence was defined as previously documented positive CPO colonisation, or new positive status, as a proportion of all eligible samples.
