Coffee leaf rust is a prevalent botanical disease that causes a worldwide reduction in coffee supply and its quality, leading to immense economic losses. While several pandemic intervention policies (PIPs) for tackling this rust pandemic are commercially available, they seem to provide only partial epidemiological relief for farmers. In this work, we develop a high-resolution spatiotemporal economical-epidemiological model, extending the Susceptible-Infected-Removed model, that captures the rust pandemic's spread in coffee tree farms and its associated economic impact.

IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a rare illness with inflammatory and fibrotic changes in affected organs such as pancreas, thyroid, salivary or lacrimal glands, and retroperitoneal space; rarely other organs may be involved. IgG4-related breast disease (IgG4-BD) is very rare and generally presents as a lump or mastitis. IgG4-BD as a presenting feature of IgG4-RD is extremely rare.

Background: While clinical practice guidelines advocate for multidisciplinary heart team (MDHT) discussions in coronary revascularization, variability in implementation across health care settings remains a challenge. This variability could potentially be addressed by language learning models like ChatGPT, offering decision-making support in diverse health care environments. Our study aims to critically evaluate the concordance between recommendations made by MDHT and those generated by language learning models in coronary revascularization decision-making.

Negative birth experiences are common. It is yet unclear which women may be most at risk already before pregnancy. Childhood trauma and non-autonoumous/unresolved attachment state of mind may affect how women experience giving birth.

We present a method for improving the performance of microwave coplanar resonators in magnetic fields, by using narrow superconducting strips of width close to the London penetration depth. In a range of low fields, the narrow strips inhibit the presence of magnetic vortices, thus preventing the generation of losses caused by their motion, leading to enhanced resistance to magnetic fields. Our method provides a more straightforward solution compared to previously proposed techniques designed to restrict vortex motion, holding potential for the development of improved devices based on microwave resonators.

Objective: Vaginal hysterectomy combined with uterosacral suspension (USLS) is a technique for treating pelvic organ prolapse. Vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (vNOTES) has been described as an alternative minimal invasive approachfor treating various gynecological and non-gynecological pathologies. The aim was to compare the surgical time between conventional vaginal hysterectomy combined with USLS and vNOTES hysterectomy combined with USLS.

Major amendments in neonatal care have been introduced in recent decades. It is important to understand whether these amendments improved the cognitive sequelae of preterm children. Through a large-scale meta-analysis, we explored the association between prematurity-related complications, neonatal care quality, and cognitive development from birth until 7 years.

Marine plastic pollution poses a growing environmental threat, with microplastics accumulating in the global oceans. This study profiles the seasonal dynamics and taxonomic composition of the plastisphere, the microplastic ecosystem, in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Using long-read 16 S and 18 S metabarcoding, we analyzed offshore microplastic and whole seawater samples across each season over a two-year period.

Background: Antibiotic overuse is a growing concern in health care. For pediatric odontogenic infections, the necessity of postoperative antibiotics lacks clear, evidence-based guidelines.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare treatment outcomes between pediatric patients hospitalized with vestibular space odontogenic infections who received postoperative antibiotics and those who did not.

Background: Primary hyperoxaluria type 3 (PH3) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by bi-allelic genetic variants in the 4 hydroxy-2 oxoglutarate aldolase (HOGA-1) gene. We report the natural history of PH3 in a 16-patient cohort, 15 from a unique genetically isolated population.
Methods: This retrospective single-center study followed PH3 patients between 2003 and 2023 with demographic, clinical, radiographic, genetic, and biochemical parameters.

Zebrafish and other small laboratory fishes are emerging as important animal models for investigating human skeletal development and diseases. In recent years, there has been a notable increase in research publications employing X-ray radiography and micro-computed tomography to analyze the skeletal structures of these animals. However, evaluating bone morphology and mineral density in small laboratory fish poses unique challenges compared to well-established small rodent models.

This review, focused on hybrid drugs, is the third in a series of reviews, where the first two reviews dealt with a) dimeric drugs, b) mutual prodrugs - codrugs. The compounds designated as hybrids are comprised of two (and sometimes three) biologically active entities, linked by metabolically stable bridges. In some cases, one of the two components of the hybrids serves as a carrier for the second component, and most frequently, the components elicit their individual biological properties, which are commonly synergistic or complementary.

This research explores how the availability of substrates affects the regulation of soil microbial communities and the taxonomical composition of bacteria. The goal is to understand the impact of organic matter and substrate availability and quality on the diversity of soil bacteria. The study observed gradual changes in bacterial diversity in response to the addition of different substrate-induced respiration (SIR) substrates.

Multimodal technology is poised to revolutionize clinical practice by integrating artificial intelligence with traditional diagnostic modalities. This evolution traces its roots from Hippocrates' humoral theory to the use of sophisticated AI-driven platforms that synthesize data across multiple sensory channels. The interplay between historical medical practices and modern technology challenges conventional patient-clinician interactions and redefines diagnostic accuracy.
