Public Health Dentistry as a Career Choice - Attitude of Dental Undergraduate Students in Puducherry.

Background: To pursue further education in a particular specialty of dentistry, it is important for dental students to be aware of the "expectation" associated with any specific specialty in dentistry. Therefore students 'attitudes' towards 'expectations' of various specialties, to a large extent enables a meaningful understanding that facilitates appropriate planning in the dental sector for the community.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire based survey was conducted, which included, final year and dental interns studying in two dental institutions, in the State of Puducherry.

A survey on awareness and knowledge among dentist practicing regenerative endodontics towards current regenerative endodontic protocols and the scaffolds used in regenerative dentistry.

Unlabelled: There are many inconsistencies in the protocols followed for Regenerative Endodontic Procedures (REP's).This study was formulated with an aim to conduct a survey among Pediatric Dentists, Endodontists and General Practioners treating Necrotic young permanent teeth to examine their awareness and Knowledge on Current Regenerative Endodontic Protocols and Scaffolds used in regenerative dentistry.

Methods: A Cross-Sectional Survey was carried out amongst 100 Pediatric dentists,100 Endodontists and 100 General Practioners.

Aim: To evaluate and compare for remineralization potential of enamel at three different time intervals using commercially available MI Varnish and Duraflor Halo varnish [5% sodium fluoride (NaF) varnish] incorporating bioactive glass, dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD), and biomimetically modified mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA).

Materials And Methods: For the study, a buccolingual division into equal halves was done for 64 decoronated premolar crowns. Among these 64 crowns, we mounted 32 in acrylic discs to be used for microhardness and induced white spot lesions (WSLs) measuring 5 × 5 mm on the exposed enamel surface.

Novel biomaterial advanced platelet-rich fibrin plus block for multiple gingival recession.

Background: The study was aimed to assess and compare hard and soft tissue augmentation clinicoradiographically with and without advanced platelet-rich fibrin + (A-PRF+) block for the treatment of multiple gingival recession using vestibular incision subperiosteal tunnel access (VISTA).

Methods: A total of 24 patients, exhibiting multiple Miller's Class I or II recessions in the maxillary esthetic zone were included. Participants were divided into two groups, Group 1 was treated with VISTA & A-PRF+ block whereas Group 2 was with VISTA technique alone.

Deep learning (DL) offers promising performance in computer vision tasks and is highly suitable for dental image recognition and analysis. We evaluated the accuracy of DL algorithms in identifying and classifying dental implant systems (DISs) using dental imaging. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we explored the MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Google Scholar databases and identified studies published between January 2011 and March 2022.

Background: Betel quid (BQ) is the fourth most commonly used psychoactive substance and its use is highly prevalent among southeast Asian countries due to the influence of psychosocial, behavioral, and environmental factors. As a result, even young children and women are becoming addicted and find it difficult to achieve long-term abstinence. Systematic research addressing the influence of behavioral and psychosocial factors on BQ chewing is scarce, hence pointing to the need for understanding the interplay of these factors to develop tailored intervention strategies for BQ cessation.

A study on relationship between dynamic postural balance and masticatory efficiency in the elderly population with complete dentures: An study.

Aim: Mastication is an important consideration for patients seeking prosthodontic treatment. Individuals with mastication problems have increased risk of systemic diseases which can negatively affect a person's postural balance control, which in turn increases the risk of falls. This study aims to correlate masticatory efficiency and dynamic postural balance in complete denture patients at 3 and 6 months after denture insertion.

An Analysis of the Viability of Nonvascular Iliac and Fibula Grafts in Mandibular Reconstruction in Patients with Circulatory Diseases: A Prospective Randomized Study.

Aim: To compare and evaluate the effect of sensory-adapted dental environment (SADE) and regular dental environment in reducing anxiety levels in children with intellectual disabilities.

Materials And Methods: This study was carried out in children with mild intellectual disabilities aged 8-13 years. Efficacy of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy on the tongue surface in the management of halitosis - A real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis.

Aim: To evaluate the additional effect of a single session of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT) on the tongue as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) on most common volatile sulfur-producing microbes such as Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), Treponema denticola (Td) and Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn) on 3rd, 7th and 14th day postoperatively using RT-PCR analysis.
