Background: To provide reference for hand function assessment and treatment effectiveness by measuring changes in muscle strength before and after rehabilitation in patients with deep hand burns.

Methods: Clinical data from 112 patients with deep right hand burns treated at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University were collected. Passive Functional Training: hand training was conducted using the continuous passive motion system, once daily for 40 minutes each session.

Intravenous patient-controlled analgesia versus epidural anesthesia in the treatment of patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty: a retrospective comparative study.

Background: Total hip arthroplasty is a common surgical procedure used to reduce pain and improve hip joint function in patients with advanced hip inflammation. Patient-controlled epidural analgesia is more effective in reducing postoperative anxiety. In addition, combined spinal and epidural anesthesia is associated with a lower incidence of respiratory complications like atelectasis.

Heavy metals pollution and the associated ecological risks along the Luanhe River basin in North China.

Luanhe River is one of the important parts in Northern China hydrographic nets, which has been seriously impacted by industrialization. However, the heavy metal pollution caused by the production activities across the basin remains poorly understood, which may pose health risks to local residents. The study aims to address this gap by focusing on heavy metal pollution in sediments from 41 sampling sites along the Luanhe River basin evaluating the potential ecological risks.

High Fat Mass Index is Associated with Endometrial Hyperplasia in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Patients: A Retrospective Study.

Aim: To assess body composition, glucolipid metabolism, and uric acid levels in PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) patients to determine their relationship with the risk of endometrial hyperplasia (EH).

Methods: A total of 232 patients were included and divided into groups according to whether they had PCOS and endometrial pathology (Group A: non-PCOS and normal endometrium; Group B: PCOS and normal endometrium; Group C: non-PCOS and EH; Group D: PCOS and EH). Body composition differences between groups and correlations between body composition, glucolipid metabolism, and uric acid levels were analyzed.

Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are crucial in infectious diseases. This study aims to evaluate the clinical value of NET-related biomarkers in identifying the risk of COVID-19 and diagnosing the disease.

Methods: This study involved 32 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) between April and August 2023.

Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a complex disease with a pathophysiology that remains incompletely understood. PCSK7 is closely related to the normal development of ocular tissues; however, the roles and mechanisms of PCSK7 in AMD have yet to be elucidated. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the specific manifestations of PCSK7 in AMD.

This two-month randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial aimed to investigate the additional benefits of coadministering Probio-X alongside febuxostat. A total of 160 patients with gout were randomly assigned to either the probiotic group (n = 120; Probio-X [3 × 10 CFU/day] with febuxostat) or the placebo group (n = 40; placebo material with febuxostat).

Efficacy and safety of insulin degludec biosimilar B01411 versus originator insulin degludec in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on oral antidiabetic drugs: a multicenter, randomized, open-label, phase 3 study.

Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of insulin degludec biosimilar B01411 (HS-IDeg) with originator insulin degludec-Tresiba (NN-IDeg) in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who were inadequately controlled on oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs) for at least 3 months.

Methods: This multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel-group, active-controlled, phase 3 study enrolled 362 participants with T2DM. Participants were stratified according to whether the insulin secretagogue (sulfonylurea or glinide) had been used before the screening and then randomized 1:1 to receive once-daily subcutaneous injections of HS-IDeg ( = 180) or NN-IDeg ( = 182) for 18 weeks.

Aims: To compare the efficacy of two power levels in the 577 nm sub-threshold micro pulse laser (SML) treatment of acute central serous chorioretinopathy (aCSC).

Methods: A retrospective comparative study was conducted. A total of 65 patients (65 eyes) with aCSC were enrolled.

Comparative efficacy of laparoscopic choledocholithotomy with T-tube insertion vs. primary suture in the management of cholecystolithiasis complicated by choledocholithiasis.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of laparoscopic choledocholithotomy with either an indwelling T-tube or primary suture in treating cholecystolithiasis complicated by choledocholithiasis.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 133 patients with cholecystolithiasis complicated by choledocholithiasis treated at Inner Mongolia Aerospace Medical Baogang Hospital from March 2020 to March 2023. Patients were divided into a control group (laparoscopic choledocholithotomy with T-tube placement) and an observation group (laparoscopic choledocholithotomy with primary suture).

Global prevalence of diet low in calcium and the disease burden: results from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019.

Background: Due to the essential role of calcium in vital biological functions, diet low in calcium (DLC) is associated with various diseases. However, there is a lack of study about the current prevalence and health burden due to DLC using reliable data sources.

Methods: We used data from the Global Burden of Disease study 2019 (GBD 2019) to estimate the prevalence and health burden of DLC in 204 countries from 1990 to 2019, by age, sex, and sociodemographic index (SDI).

Background: Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is the progressive form and turning point of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which severely causes irreversible cirrhosis as well as hepatocellular carcinoma. The mechanism underlying the progression of NAFLD to NASH has not been revealed.

[Effects of applying human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell exosomes through different pathways to treat full-thickness skin defect wounds in mice].

To investigate the effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (hUCMSC) exosomes in the treatment of full-thickness skin defect wounds in mice through local wound application, subcutaneous injection at the wound margin, and tail vein injection, and to explore the optimal administration route of hUCMSC exosomes for wound treatment. This study was an experimental study. hUCMSC exosomes were extracted from the discarded umbilical cord tissue of three normal delivery women aged 25-35 years in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Baogang Hospital of Inner Mongolia and successfully identified.

Case report: One case of acute myeloid leukemia M3 with atypical morphology.

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) is a type of acute myeloid leukemia. About 2% of APL is characterized by atypical rearrangements. Here we reported one APL case with atypical manifestations and morphology.

C-phycocyanin improves the developmental potential of cryopreserved human oocytes by minimizing ROS production and cell apoptosis.

Purpose: The cryopreservation process damages oocytes and impairs development potential. As a potent antioxidant, C-phycocyanin (PC) regulates reproductive performance. However, its beneficial effects on vitrified human oocytes remain unknown.

Background: Tibial transverse transport (TTT) can promote the healing of chronic foot ulcers, but the specific cellular and molecular mechanisms by which TTT promotes wound healing remain unclear.

Methods: New Zealand White rabbits were selected to induce foot ulcer models. The treatment included unilateral TTT surgery and bilateral TTT surgery.

Association Between Peripheral Retinal Defocus and Myopia by Multispectral Refraction Topography in Chinese Children.

Objective: To investigate the association between the peripheral refractive errors of the fundus in different regions and moderate and high myopia.

Methods: In this case-control study, 320 children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years were recruited. Peripheral refractive errors were measured using multispectral retinal refractive topography (MRT).

Exploring the clinical significance of miR-148 expression variations in distinct subtypes of irritable bowel syndrome.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) belongs to chronic functional gastrointestinal diseases featured by abdominal pain and changes in bowel habits. This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of serum miR-148 expression in different subtypes of IBS. We enrolled 86 IBS patients and 55 healthy controls.

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor with hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis: A rare case report.

Background: Malignant schwannoma is a rare tumor in the peripheral nervous system, accounting for approximately 5% to 10% of systemic soft tissue sarcomas. Especially, malignant schwannoma occurring in the broad ligament of the uterus with hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis is extremely rare in clinical practice. Here, we report the first case of an patient diagnosed with malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) of the broad ligament of the uterus with hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis, and share our reference clinical diagnosis and treatment experience.

Research Progress on Mechanism and Management of Adverse Drug Reactions of Anlotinib.

Anti-angiogenesis therapy plays a vital role in the treatment of tumors, with anlotinib as its representative targeted drug. Anlotinib is a novel oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) with inhibitory effects on tumor growth tumor angiogenesis. In Phase III clinical trials, anlotinib demonstrated better overall survival and progression-free survival than placebo in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and was approved for the first time as a third-line treatment for refractory advanced NSCLC.
