Unlabelled: Volumetric bone density (vBMD) and trabecular microarchitecture measured by high-resolution peripheral quantitative computed tomography (HR-pQCT) can discriminate the patients with high risk of asymptomatic vertebral fracture (VF) in postmenopausal Chinese women. These findings suggested that HR-pQCT could provide additional information on bone quality of the patients with asymptomatic VF.
Introduction: Although there were several studies using HR-pQCT to investigate asymptomatic VF, it remains uncertain if HR-pQCT parameters can discriminate asymptomatic VF patients, especially in Chinese population.

Objective: The objective was to reconstruct the cervical neural foramen and accurately measure the minimum oblique sagittal area of the neural foramen. Then, a quantitative diagnostic standard for cervical neural foramen stenosis was proposed and its value as an indication for surgery was evaluated.
Methods: (1) CT data were used to reconstruct the neural foramen using Mimics software, and the minimum area was measured.

Objective: To observe the effect of electronic moxibustion on memory function in the patients with amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI).
Methods: A total of 59 aMCI patients were randomized into an electronic moxibustion group (30 cases) and a placebo moxibustion group (29 cases). In the electronic moxibustion group, the electronic moxibustion was applied to Baihui (GV 20), Dazhui (GV 14), Mingmen (GV 4) and Taixi (KI 3), 45 ℃ in temperature, 20 min each time.

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of R-EDOCH protocol in the treatment of newly diagnosed double expression lymphoma.
Methods: The clinical data of 51 patients with newly diagnosed double expression lymphoma treated by R-EDOCH protocol were retrospectively analyzed in the period from May 2012 to October 2017, then overall remission rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), progression-free survival (PFS) rate and total survival (OS) rate were evaluated; moreover the patients were grouped according to IPI score and whether accepting hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT) and the clinical efficacy was compared.
Results: The ORR was 96.

To observe the effect of knockdown A20 gene expression on the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell and . Human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell 5-8F-H3 was transfected with A20-specific shRNA Tet-on inducible plasmid vectors, and A20 silenced cells were screened by Puromycin. Quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot analysis were used to detect the mRNA level and protein of A20.

NOD-like receptor 3 (NLRP3) plays critical roles in the initiation of inflammasome-mediated inflammation in microglia, thus becomes an important therapeutic target of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Dexmedetomidine (Dex), a new type of clinical anesthetic agent, shows anti-inflammatory properties and inhibits postoperative cognitive dysfunction in AD patients. The present study was aimed to investigate effect of Dex on NLRP3 activity in activated microglia and reveal the underlying mechanisms.

In the present study we investigated the effects of different durations of using high-heeled shoes on plantar pressure and gait. A questionnaire survey and dynamic plantar pressure measurements were performed in 20 control females and 117 females who had worn high-heeled shoes for a long time. According to the duration of using high-heeled shoes (as specified in the questionnaire), subjects were divided into a control group and five groups with different durations of use (i.

This study aimed to establish a new propofol target-controlled infusion (TCI) model in animals so as to study the general anesthetic mechanism at multi-levels in vivo. Twenty Japanese white rabbits were enrolled and propofol (10 mg/kg) was administrated intravenously. Artery blood samples were collected at various time points after injection, and plasma concentrations of propofol were measured.

MiR-206 is low expression in lung cancers and associated with cancer metastasis. However, the roles of miR-206 in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and angiogenesis in lung cancer remain unknown. In this study, we find that hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) induces EMT, invasion and migration in A549 and 95D lung cancer cells, and these processes could be markedly inhibited by miR-206 overexpression.

Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that arsenic trioxide (ATO) exhibits its anti-cancer activities in a variety of human malignancies. Recent studies have revealed that ATO regulated multiple microRNAs (miRNAs) in human cancers. However, the exact mechanism of ATO-mediated tumor suppressive function has not been fully elucidated.

To examine the therapeutic effect of Src inhibitor on the VEGF mediating vascular hyperpermeability and bone destruction within steroid-associated osteonecrotic lesions in rabbits. Rabbits with high risk for progress to destructive repair in steroid-associated osteonecrosis were selected according to our published protocol. The selected rabbits were systemically administrated with either Anti-VEGF antibody (Anti-VEGF Group) or Src inhibitor (Src-Inhibition Group) or VEGF (VEGF-Supplement Group) or a combination of VEGF and Src inhibitor (Supplement &Inhibition Group) or control vehicle (Control Group) for 4 weeks.

Background: Methods for hair-follicle regeneration are important tools for investigating signalling and cytokines during hair-follicle morphogenesis and cycling. Several animal models for hair reconstitution have been established; however, these models have several shortcomings.
Aim: To develop a simple and rapid model for hair induction in nude mouse.
