Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) has previously been reported to be upregulated in many malignant tumors. This study investigated the significance of PRMT5 in endometrial carcinoma (EC) and explored its function in tumorigenesis. Immunohistochemistry was performed to evaluate PRMT5 expression in 62 EC and 66 endometrial hyperplasia samples.

Electronic address:

PtCuCo trimetallic alloys (PtCuCo-TAs) are synthesized by one-step reduction. The chemiluminescence (CL) properties of PtCuCo-TAs are studied systemically. PtCuCo-TAs show good catalyzing for luminol-HO system.

Key Laboratory of Optic-Electric Sensing and Analytical Chemistry for Life Science, MOE, Shandong Key Laboratory of Biochemical Analysis, Key Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry for Life Science in Universities of Shandong, State Key Laboratory Base of Eco-Chemical Engineering, Key Laboratory of Rubber-Plastics of Ministry of Education/Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Rubber Plastics, College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, Qingdao 266042, China. Electronic address:

MoS, a typical transition metal disulfide, is widely used in the photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor construction. In general, MoS based PEC sensor are "signal-on" strategies. Surprisingly, we discovered that the PEC response of MoS was quenched by methionine greatly.

Department of Neurosurgery, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, 154 Anshan Road, Tianjin, China; Tianjin Neurological Institute, Key Laboratory of Post-Neurotrauma Neuro-Repair and Regeneration in Central Nervous System, Ministry of Education and Tianjin City, 154 Anshan Road, Tianjin, China. Electronic address:

Early brain injury (EBI) plays a pivotal role in the prognosis of patients with subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH). Dexmedetomidine (DEX), a highly selective α receptor agonist, is reported to exert multiple protective effects in many neurological diseases. This study was designed to investigate whether DEX had neuroprotective functions in EBI after SAH, and to explore the possible mechanisms.

Lymph node status in different molecular subtype of breast cancer: triple negative tumours are more likely lymph node negative.

Oncotarget

August 2017

Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, National Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Key Laboratory of Cancer Prevention and Therapy of Tianjin, Key Laboratory of Breast Cancer Prevention and Therapy, Tianjin Medical University, Ministry of Education, Tianjin, China.

Background And Objectives: To investigate the association between different molecular subtype (MST) and the axillary lymph nodal (ALN) status.

Materials And Methods: A total of 528 female patients with primary breast cancer were collected. Survival estimates were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier method, univariate and multivariate logistic regression models.

Objective: The purpose of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical value of serum cytokeratin-19-fragment (cyfra21-1) as a biomarker in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Methods: Sixty-six patients with NSCLC and 48 cases with benign lung disease were retrospectively analyzed in the department of thoracic surgery in our hospital. The serum level of cyfra21-1 was detected in the above patients.

The role of microRNAs in human breast cancer progression.

Tumour Biol

July 2014

Department of Oncology, Bao Di Hospital, Bao Di Clinical College, Tianjin Medical University, Guang Chuan Road, Bao Di, Tian Jin, People's Republic of China.

Over the past decade, microRNAs (miRNAs) have become a new paradigm of gene regulation. miRNAs are involved in a wide array of carcinogenic processes. Indeed, increasing evidence has shown the importance of miRNAs in cancer, suggesting their possible use as diagnostic, predictive and prognostic biomarkers, leading to miRNA-based anti-cancer therapies, either alone or in combination with current targeted therapies, with the goal of improving cancer treatment responses and increasing cure rates.

The role of microRNAs in lung cancer progression.

Med Oncol

April 2014

Department of Oncology, Bao Di Hospital, Bao Di Clinical College of Tianjin Medical University, Guang Chuan road, Bao Di, Tianjin, People's Republic of China.

Lung cancer is a heterogeneous disease with currently still unknown mechanisms of development. Besides genetic and epigenetic mechanisms, microRNAs (miRNAs) have recently been discovered as one of the crucial players in lung carcinogenesis through posttranscriptional regulation of tumor suppressor and oncogenes. A substantial number of deregulated miRNAs have been revealed in lung cancer, and the biological significance of those miRNAs has been confirmed in multiple functional experiments.

Objectives: Pure bronchioloalveolar carcinoma (BAC) is considered the early stage of lung adenocarcinoma, and is even regarded as lung adenocarcinoma in situ. This study was designed to investigate the differences in the gene expression of pure BAC and that of adenocarcinoma with bronchioloalveolar features and explore the mechanism of BAC progression to adenocarcinoma with bronchioloalveolar features

Methods: Total RNA was extracted from 16 tissue specimens. Expression analysis was carried out using Agilent 4 × 44 k arrays.
