Purpose: Ossification of the mamillo-accessory ligament (MAL) results in the formation of a mamillo-accessory foramen (MAF), which is associated with aging. The MAL tethers the medial branches of the lumbar dorsal rami to the lumbar vertebrae. A MAL ossified at the lumbar vertebrae can cause low back pain by compressing the medial branch of a dorsal ramus.

Significant income was promised by giant freshwater prawn farming, which served as a key occupation for farmers. However, challenges were faced by traditional methods, including difficulties in selling prawns of incorrect sizes, limited market demand, low prices, and the risk of waterborne diseases. In pond-raised environments, these prawns were prone to diseases due to deteriorating environmental conditions, particularly poor pond bottoms, resulting in unsuitable water quality and vulnerability in prawn growth.

Background And Objectives: The adaptive processes and resilience of vectors responsible for bioindicators can change in response to climate, land use, and environmental changes. This study evaluated the effects of expanding farmlands with the domestication of animals in the vicinity of either disturbed swamps or built-up farmland ponds on the population dispersion and decline of locally adapted faunas as a result of expanding farmlands in Thailand.
Materials And Methods: Based on environmental surveys, four different geographically defined study sites were selected: I - the expanding farmlands with domestication of livestock and pet animals in the vicinity of low-lying swamp with habitat fragmentation and aquatic vegetation; II - the expanding farmlands with domestication of pet animals in the vicinity of elevated swamp with habitat destruction and aquatic vegetation; III - the expanding farmlands with domestication of livestock and pet animals in the vicinity of low-lying farmland ponds with restoration and aquatic vegetation; and IV - the expanding farmlands with domestication of pet animals in the vicinity of elevated farmland ponds with restoration and aquatic vegetation.

Carcinins are type-I crustins from crustaceans and play an important role in innate immune system. In this study, type-I crustins, carcininPm1 and carcininPm2, from the hemocytes of Penaeus monodon were identified. Comparison of their amino acid sequences and the phylogenetic tree revealed that they were closely related to the other crustacean carcinin proteins, but were clustered into different groups of the carcinin proteins.

The promising influences of K and Ca ions in the development of effective MnO for the selective oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) were studied for the catalytic performance under a high-pressure reaction of aqueous O (0.5 MPa) in a basic system. Various oxidation states of manganese in MnO were able to accelerate the oxidation of 5-formyl-2-furancarboxylic acid to FDCA in the rate-determining step.

Sex differences in cognitive function exist, but they are not stable and undergo dynamic change during the lifespan. However, our understanding of how sex-related neural information transmission evolves with age is still in its infancy. This study utilized the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) and the label-free proteomics method with bioinformatic analysis to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying age-related sex differences in cognitive performance in 199 healthy Thai subjects (aged 20-70 years), as well as explore the sex-dependent protein complexes for predicting cognitive aging.

Zirconia ceramics have been widely used as dental restorations due to their esthetic appearance and high flexural strength. The bonding of zirconia with resin cement should rely on both mechanical and chemical bonds. This study was performed to investigate the effect of zirconia surface topography and its wettability after surface pretreatments on the microshear bond strength (μSBS) of a resin cement.

Background: The -93G > A (rs1800734) polymorphism within the core promoter region of MLH1 gene is associated with MLH1 CpG island hypermethylation. This polymorphism has recently been proposed as a low penetrance variant for colorectal cancer. Many published studies have evaluated the association between the MLH1 -93G > A polymorphism and colorectal cancer risk.

Dental implants have been utilized for many years to treat individuals with missing teeth. To optimize the long-term success rate of such implants, new designs, surfaces, and materials have been analyzed. It is important for the clinician to have a background in the field of implant surface design, to be familiar with the strengths and limitations of the available options, and to be aware of the alterations in surface structure that may occur following installation.

Zoonotic parasite infections in humans have emerged over two decades in Southeast Asia (SEA), including Malaysia and Thailand. The species is commonly found in domestic cats and dogs as the natural reservoir hosts. The sporadic transmission pattern of zoonosis causes childhood infections in Thailand and adulthood infections in Malaysia.

The development of adsorption technology and the processing of radiation have both been influenced by chitosan adsorbent (γ-chitosan), a raw material with unique features. The goal of the current work was to improve the synthesis of Fe-SBA-15 utilizing chitosan that has undergone gamma radiation (Fe-γ-CS-SBA-15) in order to investigate the removal of methylene blue dye in a single hydrothermal procedure. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), High angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy (HAADF-STEM), small- and wide-angle X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and Energydispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were used to characterize γ-CS-SBA-15 that had been exposed to Fe.

Activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-regulated transcription factor that induces expression of major molecular chaperones in the ER. We recently reported that ATF6β, a subtype of ATF6, promoted survival of hippocampal neurons exposed to ER stress and excitotoxicity, at least in part by inducing expression of calreticulin, an ER molecular chaperone with high Ca-binding capacity. In the present study, we demonstrate that ATF6β deficiency in mice also decreases calreticulin expression and increases expression of glucose-regulated protein 78, another ER molecular chaperone, in emotional brain regions such as the prefrontal cortex (PFC), hypothalamus, hippocampus, and amygdala.
