Introduction: In low-and-middle-income-countries (LMIC), viral suppression is defined as plasma viral load (PVL) below 1000 copies/mL (low-level viremia [LLV]) and threshold for HIV drug resistance (HIVDR) testing. However, there is evidence that drug resistance mutations (DRMs) may emerge at LLV, thus compromising antiretroviral treatment (ART) response We evaluated sequencing success rates (SSR) at LLV, described HIVDR profiles and adequacy with potential efficacy of tenofovir-lamivudine-dolutegravir (TLD).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among individuals with LLV at the Chantal BIYA International Reference Centre, Yaoundé, Cameroon from January 2020 through August 2021.

From a taxonomic point of view, Hymenoptera are subclassified into families: Apidae, including honeybees (Apis mellifera) and bumblebees (Bombus), and Vespidae, which, in turn, are divided into the subfamilies of Vespinae (wasps, including hornets, vespules, dolichovespules) and Polistinae (paper wasp). Hypersensitivity to Hymenoptera venom can be linked to immunological (IgE-mediated or non-IgE-mediated) and non-immunological mechanisms. Reactions are classified into local reactions, large local reactions, systemic reactions, toxic reactions, and unusual reactions.

Background: The advent of disease-modifying treatments (DMT) has changed natural history in 5q Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The aim of this study was to report survival and functional aspects in all the Italian type I children born since 2016.
Methods: The study included all symptomatic children with type I SMA born since January 1st, 2016, when DMTs became available in Italy.

Evidence on long-term outcomes of children receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) is of utmost importance to optimize current and future therapeutic strategies for HIV. We sought to ascertain the long-term responses among ART-experienced children and their potential implications. A retrospective, observational, facility-based cohort study was conducted among 136 ART-experienced children monitored for 10 years (2007-2017) at the Essos Hospital Centre in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Background: We aimed to estimate real-world evidence of the prevalence rate of genetic developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) in the Italian population over a 11-year period.
Methods: Fifteen paediatric and adult tertiary Italian epilepsy centres participated in a survey related to 98 genes included in the molecular diagnostic workflows of most centres. We included patients with a clinical diagnosis of DEE, caused by a pathogenic or likely pathogenic variant in one of the selected genes, with a molecular diagnosis established between 2012 and 2022.

Objective: This retrospective study aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics, ventilatory strategies, and effectiveness of ventilation in pediatric patients with central apneas treated at the Sleep Medicine and Long-Term Ventilation Unit of the Bambino Gesù Children's Hospital in Rome from 2012 to 2022.
Methods: Among all ventilated patients at our Center from January 2012 to December 2022, we retrospectively included children with a cAHI ≥ 1 events/h on baseline poly(somno)graphic study. Additional parameters assessed included the underlying disease, type of ventilation (non-invasive vs.

Smart technologies and connected health are providing opportunities for improved healthcare for chronic conditions. Acceptance by healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients is crucial for successful implementation. Evidence-based standards, technological infrastructure and regulatory processes are needed to integrate digital tools into clinical practice.

This European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) guideline provides recommendations for the management of IgE-mediated food allergy and was developed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations (GRADE) approach. Following the confirmation of IgE-mediated food allergy diagnosis, allergen avoidance and dietary advice (with support of a specialised dietitian, if possible) together with the provision of a written treatment plan, education on the recognition of allergic symptoms and prescription of medication including adrenaline using an auto-injector are essential. Patients with significant anxiety and requirement for coping strategies may benefit from support from a clinical psychologist.

Background: Virological failure (VF) among children remains concerning, with high risks of HIV drug resistance (HIVDR) emergence and increased disease progression. Therefore, monitoring of viral non-suppression and emerging HIVDR is crucial, especially in the frame of sociopolitical unrest.
Objective: The study sought to determine the prevalence of VF and evaluate the acquired HIVDR and viral genetic diversity among children in the Northwest region of Cameroon during the ongoing sociopolitical crisis.

Robot-assisted extravesical ureteral reimplantation (REVUR) was described for the first time in 2004. Since then, the surgical approach of vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) has changed dramatically. The benefits of this technique are great when compared to the laparoscopic or traditional open approaches.

The aim of this study was to identify pitfalls in ovarian tissue cryopreservation protocol from referral to surgical procedure and to analyze factors associated with chemotherapy exposure of the cryopreserved tissue and decreased ovarian function in a cohort of young girls at high risk of infertility. The study population comprised 200 girls eligible for ovarian tissue cryopreservation between 2002 and 2020 at the Children's Hospital of the University Central Hospital of Helsinki (Finland). Analyses included evaluation of the proportion of patients who underwent ovarian tissue cryopreservation, factors associated with patient selection and timing of ovarian tissue cryopreservation, and ovarian function during long-term follow-up in relation to oncological treatments.

Background: In Europe, Omalizumab (anti-IgE) is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe asthma, but not for IgE-mediated food allergy (FA).
Objective: We assessed the impact of Omalizumab on efficacy, safety, and quality of life (FA-QoL) in patients with moderate to severe asthma and who have a history of anaphylaxis to peanut, tree nuts, fish, egg, milk, and/or wheat.
Methods: Food-allergic children (6-18 years) with moderate to severe asthma underwent oral food challenges (OFCs) to establish the threshold of reaction to the culprit food(s) at baseline (T0) and at 4-month intervals (T1, T2, and T3) during their first year of treatment with Omalizumab.
