Vicryl Reaction Following Arthroscopic Surgery: A Case Report.

Reactions to Vicryl have rarely been reported in the literature. Moreover, a reaction that begins less than 24 hours postoperatively is even rarer. We present a case of Vicryl hypersensitivity that developed within 24 hours at the site of the wounds following arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and meniscal repair.

Feasibility of diagnosing osteoporosis using routine computed tomography scans for hip fractures: Correlation with histopathological diagnosis of head and neck regions.

Objective: The aim of this study was to demonstrate the feasibility of diagnosing osteoporosis through routine computed tomography (CT) by assessing the association between the histopathological assessment of femoral head specimens extracted from patients who underwent surgery for intertrochanteric fractures and the Hounsfield unit (HU) measurements derived from preoperative CT scans.

Methods: Forty-eight patients who presented to our clinic between November 2019 and May 2020 with hip fractures and underwent partial prosthesis fixation were included in this retrospective study. Hounsfield unit measurements were performed on the head and neck regions using dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) and CT scans, respectively.

Comparison of Functional Outcomes and Complications of Inlay and Onlay Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty in Neer Type 4 Proximal Humerus Fractures and Cuff Tear Arthropathy: A Multicentric Study.

Background: This multicenter retrospective study was conducted with the objective of comparing the outcomes and complications between inlay and onlay reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) in patients presenting Neer Type 4 proximal humerus fractures and cuff tear arthropathy. The primary aim of this investigation was to assess and juxtapose the clinical as well as functional outcomes of individuals who underwent onlay reverse shoulder arthroplasty with those who underwent inlay reverse shoulder arthroplasty.

Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted, involving patients who had undergone reverse shoulder arthroplasty between the period of 2016 and 2022.

Management preferences of orthopedic surgeons in developmental dysplasia of the hip under 1 year of age in Türkiye: Results of a nationwide cross-sectional survey.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the diagnosis and treatment preferences of orthopedic surgeons in developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) cases under the age of 1 in Türkiye with a higher incidence of DDH, estimated to be around 5-15 per 1000 live births.

Methods: This was a nationwide cross-sectional survey. A link for the online survey, including 16 multiple-choice questions, was sent to the email group of the National Orthopedic Society.

Is liquid nitrogen recycled bone and vascular fibula combination the biological reconstruction of choice in lower extremity long bone tumor-related defects?

Introduction: Combination techniques, which encompass the combined use of vascularized bone grafts with massive allografts or autografts (recycled bone grafts), are especially important in the biological reconstruction of tumor-related lower extremity long bone defects. Liquid nitrogen recycled bone (frozen autograft) and free vascular fibula graft (FVFG) combination, which was coined as the "frozen hotdog (FH)" method by the authors, has not been as widely used nor its outcomes reported for significantly sized patient groups. This study aims to provide an answer to whether FH is a safe and effective reconstructive tool for limb salvage in malignant tumors of the lower extremity regarding radiological, functional, and oncological outcomes.

The comparison of pedobarographic parameters after calcaneal fractures.

Background: This study aims to reveal surgical treatment's effect on plantar load restoration and clinical outcomes compared to conservative treatment in intra-articular calcaneal fractures.

Methods: Thirty-two patients (Group 1) who underwent surgery for unilateral intra-articular calcaneal fractures and 28 patients who received conservative treatment (Group 2) were included in the study. Detailed static pedobarography examinations were performed on all patients.

Comparison of biomechanical analysis of four different tibial tunnel fixations in a bovine model.

Background: To determine the ideal fixation technique for an ACL reconstruction with a hamstring graft, multiple studies have been undertaken to define the initial biomechanical properties of tibial fixation.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare the biomechanical properties of tibial fixation methods by creating single or hybrid systems.

Methods: Bovine tibias and forefoot digital extensor tendons were prepared with four different tibial anterior cruciate ligament fixation methods and compared biomechanically.

Introduction: Many assessment methods are used in physiotherapy to analyze the fitness level and injury risk in athletes, and to determine the general health status and the effectiveness of the treatment applied in patients. Considering the need for telehealth use, it is essential to determine the usability of tests performed as tele-assessment. This study aimed to examine the intra-rater reliability, validity, and feasibility of the tele-assessment version of core strength and endurance and functional capacity assessments in healthy individuals.

Investigation of Effectiveness of Two Different Kinesiotaping Techniques in Myofascial Pain Syndrome: An Open-Label Randomized Clinical Trial.

Background: Myofascial pain syndrome is a regional musculoskeletal pain syndrome characterized by trigger points. Although there are widely accepted treatment modalities, there is no gold standard treatment. Kinesiotaping represents an interesting modality in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and attracts attention with studies emerging in the recent years, but in spite of the proposed benefits of kinesiotaping, its efficacy is still unclear, thus further studies evaluating the effectiveness of kinesiotaping are needed.

Treatment of malreduced pilon fracture: A case report and the result in the long-term follow-up.

Introduction: The risk for post-traumatic osteoarthritis (POA) following tibial plafond joint trauma has been reported to be as high as 70-75%. In the treatment of more severe joint pathologies, with incongruity and intra-articular defects, internal or external fixations techniques may be required.

Presentation Of Case: We report the orthopedic management of a pilon fracture in a 30-year-old male with malunion and implant failure after initial mal-reduction of the fracture 9-months earlier.
