PROPSEA, safety evaluation of palbociclib and ribociclib in older patients with breast cancer: A prospective real-world TOG study.

Introduction: In this study, the toxicities and management of palbociclib and ribociclib in older patients (≥65 years) with metastatic breast cancer patients were investigated.

Materials And Methods: Among older patients receiving palbociclib and ribociclib, Geriatric 8 (G8) and Groningen Frailty Index were used to evaluate frailty status. Dose modifications, drug withdrawal and other serious adverse events (SAEs) were recorded and analyzed according to baseline patient characteristics.

Minor physical anomalies may be related to treatment resistance in patients with schizophrenia.

This study investigates the relationship between minor physical anomalies (MPA) and treatment resistance in schizophrenia (TRS). We evaluated 137 patients and 100 healthy controls by using a modified Waldrup MPA scale. Thirteen MPA items were found more frequently in the schizophrenia group than in the controls.

The use of bevacizumab in primary malignant tumors of the central nervous system: A single-center experience.

Primary central nervous system tumors rank 8 among other cancers in patients over 40 years of age. Glioblastoma is the most common primary central nervous system malignancy, accounting for 48 percent of the cases. The present study evaluates the effect of bevacizumab on the disease course in patients who received bevacizumab therapy due to primary central nervous system tumors in our clinic.

Case report: Drug-induced vitiligo during treatment with BRAF/MEK inhibitors in a patient with metastatic conjunctival melanoma.

Introduction: Autoimmune side effects can be detected during the use of BRAF/MEK inhibitor. Although its frequency, mechanism and importance are not known exactly, there are cases reported in the literature.

Case Report: We report a case of drug-induced vitiligo in a patient with metastatic conjunctival malignant melanoma who was treated with BRAF/MEK inhibition therapy.

Background: Nausea and vomiting are among the most common medical problems during pregnancy, affecting 80% of mothers.

Objectives: This study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study to determine the effect of acupressure applied by a wristband to the pericardium 6 (PC6) point on nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

Methods: The study population consisted of 74 pregnant women between 6-14 weeks of gestation who were experiencing nausea and vomiting.

Objective: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is characterized by recurrent episodes of complete or partial obstruction of the upper airway leading to episodic desaturation. OSA patients often show symptoms of anxiety. Our study aimed to examine the presence and levels of anxiety in OSA and simple snoring relative to control subjects and to investigate the correlation between anxiety scores and polysomnographic, demographic, and sleepiness parameters.

Skeletal Side Effects of Systemic Isotretinoin Treatment: Do They Depend on Age, Gender, Treatment Duration, Daily Dose and Isotretinoin-Naiveness?

Introduction: Systemic isotretinoin is the most effective treatment modality in acne vulgaris; however, both patients and physicians hesitate to use it due its side effects.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of fatigue, myalgia and low back pain during systemic isotretinoin treatment; and to determine their relationship with age, gender, treatment duration, daily isotretinoin dose and isotretinoin-naiveness of the patient.

Methods: This is a cross sectional study including the acne vulgaris patients, aged between 13 to 40 years, who have at least received one month of oral isotretinoin treatment.

Treatment efficacy of ribociclib or palbociclib plus letrozole in hormone receptor-positive/HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer.

Ribociclib, palbociclib and abemaciclib are currently approved CDK4/6 inhibitors along with aromatase inhibitors as the first-line standard-of-care for patients with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer. The authors report retrospective real-life data for 600 patients with estrogen receptor- and/or progesterone receptor-positive and HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer who were treated with ribociclib and palbociclib in combination with letrozole. The results demonstrated that the combination of palbociclib or ribociclib with letrozole has similar progression-free survival and overall survival benefit in real life for the patient group with similar clinical features.
