Article Synopsis
  • Psoriasis is a long-lasting skin condition characterized by inflammation, and while previous studies have looked at inflammatory markers for diagnosis and monitoring, there hasn't been enough comprehensive research combining both new and traditional markers.
  • A study involving 209 participants, including 54 psoriasis patients, identified several potential markers like Uric acid/HDL ratio and CRP, with psoriasis patients showing higher levels of certain markers compared to controls, and some correlations with disease severity were noted.
  • Despite the findings, the lack of specificity of these markers hampers their use in practice, but combining them with more specific measures like the PASI score could improve diagnosis and treatment management.
