Evaluation of the effect of therapeutic plasma exchange on serum cytokine levels in pediatric intensive care unit.

Introduction: Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) is crucial for saving lives when used appropriately. This study aimed to assess TPE's impact on tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) protein and IL-6 levels in critically ill pediatric patients.

Methods: Conducted between May 2022 and December 2022, the study observed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) patients undergoing TPE, recording demographics, lab results, TWEAK, and IL-6 levels pre- and post-procedure.

Response rates of pazopanib therapy in metastatic soft tissue sarcoma using real‑world data.

The present study was a retrospective single-center study. A total of 81 patients diagnosed with metastatic soft tissue sarcoma were included who received pazopanib therapy. Clinical data, including age at diagnosis, histological subtype, treatments received before pazopanib, number of metastatic sites at the time of initiation of treatment, progression-free survival and overall survival time under pazopanib treatment, side effects and response evaluation in follow-up imaging after initiation of pazopanib therapy, were recorded.

Evaluation of the update for screening for retinopathy of prematurity in a tertiary care center in Türkiye with retrospective cohorts.

Background/aim: In Türkiye, the recommendations for screening for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) were updated in 2021. We aimed to present detailed data on the infants included in the screening program according to the new criteria and evaluate whether these changes are of benefit in detecting severe ROP.

Materials And Methods: Our hospital's medical records of infants screened for ROP between July 2019 and July 2021 or between August 2021 and August 2023 were retrospectively examined.
